Premier League Gameweek 29 (3rd - 5th March 2018)

Yeah, take off your main creative option when behind with 10 minutes left. Well done Allardyce.

Every Everton sub has been completely wrong and only hampered them.

Is Ashley Williams the worst player in the Premier League?

Their summer transfers were piss poor. They traded pace and goals with slow players and terrible defenders.
I think they had, like almost everybody thought at the time, a great summer market. Mourinho was even pointing them to the top four. Now that the manager's work didn't work, so to say, players are looking like shit. Let's see what Marco Silva will do with that bunch.

Good news for Everton, as Williams will be suspended for a few games. Blessing in disguise

Everton spent £30 million on Keane, and £12 million on Williams
Keane and Pickford signed for a combined £50M rising to £60M and they've already conceded 5 more goals this season than last season with 9 games left to play.

Hate Burnley but it would be so funny if they could catch and overtake Arsenal.

Is everything alright at home with Williams? What the hell is he thinking, if I was big Sam I would dock his wages.

Great spot from the ref. I completely missed it. Couldn't understand what the red was for.

Should be the last thing Williams ever does in an Everton shirt if Sam was smart.

Because everyone looks at how much money spent, while the important thing is who they bought and for which position. They had a strong and fast striker upfront, lost him then went on and spent money on 3 very slow playmakers and some terrible defenders.

Anyone think Everton should have gone for the Burnley manager? He was linked with them, but don't think they even got in touch with him.

Their summer was a disaster. They bought three slow as molasses attacking midfielder that are all just average. They didn't replace Lukaku. They bought a young keeper that isn't ready, despite being a talent. They bought one centre back despite needing a couple. They didn't address any luck of pace in their team. They need at least one full back, but bought Cuco Martina because he's mates with Koeman rather than buying on talent and he's been horrendous for them. It's hard to think of a worse summer transfer window. They got everything wrong. They didn't address any problems, just added more.

Yeah, now, with the awful work their managers did, it looks that way, sure. Another guy might have disguised all that.

While I agree with most of this, I think the Pickford signing will prove to be a good one. Maybe Keane too, in the long run.

Spurs: Lloris, Aurier, Vertonghen, Sanchez, Davies, Dier, Dembele, Eriksen, Alli, Son, Kane
Subs: Vorm, Trippier, Rose, Lamela, Wanyama, Sissoko, Moura

Huddersfield: Lossl, Hadergjonaj, Kongolo, Zanka, Schindler, Hogg, Williams, La Parra, Pritchard, Quaner, Mounie
Subs: Green, Smith, Malone, Billing, Lowe, Depoitre, Ince

Hope Palace, Southampton and Swansea win this weekend. Everton deserves to sweat a little for the awful football they play.

the transfer window was the managers awful work. I don't see any manager getting this team out of the trouble they got themselves into this season. I said at the time people were over rating their summer. Same as AC Milan. They bought the wrong players. Tried to solve the wrong problems.

I don't disagree entirely but for a team that wanted to break into the top 4. Pickford is simply not good enough yet. His decision making is poor, and he's too timid at the moment. But as I said he's a talent.

Keane needs the right people and shape around him to work. He's better than he's shown this season but will he be able to bounce back from this season? Interesting question that I don't know the answer for. First things first, stop the pairing of him and Williams.

Not sure if you picked it up in the feed you were watching but at a Burnley corner you could hear Williams' astute advice to Gylfi Sigurdsson - "Gylfi, head it".
Corner comes in, Woods scores, and guess who should have been marking him.

I don't understand why we don't see more passes like the one for Barnes' goal. If there's anything PL teams could really improve on, it's probably the use of through balls.

It was a great pass, and the one similar to it shortly after was good too, but it helps that Everton's defence were shoddy and slow. Not all defences are as generous.

3 PM kick offs
Leicester City vs Bournemouth

Southampton vs Stoke

Swansea v West Ham

Spurs vs Huddersfield

Watford vs West Brom

Burnley deserve to be in the Europa League next season, so I hope they qualify. Will be interesting to see how Dyche fares in a European competition and a packed schedule. Hope they don't do a Southampton and crash out too soon.

Fair play to Sean Dyche, great job with what he's got there at Burnley.
