Premier League Gameweek 7

Thought last week that Swansea were shit and City struggled because City were sluggish. Apparently, Swansea aren't that bad. Notice that they didn't sit deep at the start but pressed Liverpool and dominated the game. Liverpool seemed sirprised and needed 30 min to find their usual game.

Mane would have been brilliant for us. If he manages to find consistency under Klopp he will be an amazing signing, his top level was never under question, but his consistency surely was.

The consistency thing is something people who dont watch him frequently keep repeating until its become something everyone parrots.
I watched every game of his last season, I am a fan of his and he had a patch during the middle of the year during the transfer season of maybe 6 weeks where he went off the boil. Koeman dropped him for a few weeks and he came right. Mane was consistently among the top 3 performers for Southampton every single game outside that short transfer window burst last season.

Lallana injury hasn't helped. Problem with counterpressing it is requires discipline and personnel.

Injuries can ruin it easily.
They barely pressed though. A Lallana injury shouldn't be so vital.

It's why Sturridge hasn't been playing. He doesn't have the legs to run around chasing defenders all game. Swansea to their credit have done well when they've had the ball.

From that first half, it's pretty obvious the best way to beat Pool is to play them at their own game. Press them, hassle them, quickly break should an opportunity present itself. This Liverpool defence isn't that strong and can easily be exposed.

Truly arrogant of Liverpool to start the second half in the same strip.

If Liverpool score in the next 15-20 mins they'll win this.

I think that's the only issue with you at the moment and the system. It falls down very easily if you take one player from the set up.

A la Rodgers era.

Sturridge has been shit. Routledge with a terrible decision to pass instead of shoot.

It's two sides of the same coin really. The only difference is that with Suarez it was just him that made the difference. Whereas now it's a couple of players, like Lallana today and Mane against Burnley.

Fecking Mane, he is seriously 50% of Liverpools attack.

Why they didn't get competition for his signature I'll never know.

Inevitable. Comfortable Liverpool win.

Pls someone post that picture of him where he looks transly compromised.

They overpaid way too much for a player that publicly wanted out and had consistency issues, plus the whole AFCON thing.

Remember when we were constantly linked with him and so many in here felt he was barely good enough? Plus the LVG/ Koeman relationship

The real question is did Firmino mean to head the ball into the ground to bounce it over Fabianski :nervous:
