Premier league matchweek 13 - Nov-25 &26

Hilarious that Pep's achievements are downplayed in Germany and it's a two team league, yet it's ignored that the mighty Ancelotti is struggling in this 'two team' league were Bayern are currently six points behind leaves Leipzig!

I've not seen one person claim Guardiola would come to City and dominate every game easily, in-fact many said this was his toughest test as the squad finished 4th, was ageing and had many players not good enough. Yet he's lost one game in 13 league games! If Bayern with the next two league games they will also have 30 points.

Too many on here can't look at things objectively. If Pep signed for an United and had 30 points from 13 games, would be wax lyrical comments on here from 95%.

Excellent post. But I doubt many on here will listen to reason.

to be fair I wanted to murder the cnut at that moment, can't imagine how the players felt

 Of course. We were taking it to Madrid that game before he red carded Nani. I agree.

But, in any case, it does offer proof that we've hardly been innocent of pressuring the refs over the years.

You're getting yourself worked up for nothing. Football fans don't think rationally.

This, everyone is looking through their own tinted glasses.

Pep has been exactly as I expected so far. No more, no less. City under him also have 18 points of 21 away from home now with 2 of the hardest places to go out of the way but on here we are terrible away from home.
On our current point rate we'll finish with mid 80's in points.
Our terrible defence has conceded 12 goals in 13 league games, 3rd best in the league. Our attack after 12 joint highest scorers and we were 1 point off the top. Could be top if Chelsea fail to beat Spurs.
Qualfiied with a game to spare in the CL.
Burnley who are shite appearantly, well against us anyway, were world beaters against United, Liverpool and very good in only losing to Arsenal to a 93rd minute controversial goal this season. Makes no sense but people will always be biased.
In reality they are the same side, only difference is City took their chances which Liverpool and United failed to do.

Our bench looks far from inspiring except for Origi and our two youngster but they're too young and inexperienced to make a real impact imo. Let's just hope we don't pick up any more injuries to our starting XI today.

What's your point?

That United fans are biased against the man managing their second biggest rivals?

Yes but I mean us being useless means we have no impact on the title and don't participate in the race but all we can do is hope Liverpool don't win.

Yes. That or Arsenal winning.

There are many games yet to play, I don't think we're in that bad a position.

Yet United fans have lot's of praise towards Kloop, someone who's achievements aren't on par with Guardiola and he's manager of United fan's most hated club...

There's a strange and unhealthy attitude towards Guardiola on here, even before he was announced as City manager, probably jealousy due to the two CL final defeats.

Likely to be another weekend where everyone above us (except for Spurs) win.

City being average and winning games and it being a sign of champions has been trotted out every other weekend for the last two seasons.
Maybe it's time to out that to bed? Was it February last year when it finally stopped?

Perhaps because he didn't live up to what Heynckes did. He dell short by the high standard of his predecessor.

Pep took over a treble winning side and only won the league, in a 2-team league. He got trounced and outclassed by one of the Spanish clubs in the semis if I remember.

Let's wait until Pep has actually achieved something at City before waving poetical about him as City manager.

Yeah... pick the most contentious decision in 5 years for United in Europe to prove your point....

Pep players have always surrounded refs, that is a fact.

There's a credible theory that Pep burns out his sides after 3/4 seasons and it takes a lot out of the squad post Pep.
Anyway Bayern were winning pre Pep and Carlo is a terrible league manager, I don't see what this proves. Somebody struggling to adapt a squad side built for Guardiola, without Guardiola... Shocker.

So it's all about the UCL then? Is that what managers are being judged on? A cup competition that has numerous variables and some very equal teams in it defines how highly rated a manager is?

So I assume under that criteria Ferguson winning 2 champions league trophies in 27 years has to be deemed a failure?

This is the problem when their bigger name players stay for the CL. That's all they're focused on since they'll be gone this time next year so the league position doesn't affect them.

It was a failure, he even admitted it himself.

Sir Alex inherited a relegation threatened club and built a dynasty.

And clearly it is not all about the CL, but it is about context and at the time, Bayern were the top team in the world and expected to add to their European trophy cabinet.

Also during Fergies times there was that foreign player rule which impacted on our team selection in the CL.
