Premier League Matchweek 25 (Feb 11-13)

Cretinburg is one of the worst refs in the league. Actually feck it, there is not a single decent ref in the PL. Maybe Oliver, but he's also a pencil-necked inconsistent power tripping cnut.
You wonder if making them professional has done this. That because they are paid so well they think they are entitled to attention as well. Oh for the days of referees that you forgot were even there.

Looked far less deliberate than Sanchez's
I don't think the nature of whether it's deliberate or not should be used to decide if it's a hand ball. In the case of the handball that resulted in a goal. I don't think that was deliberate but he had his arms in a position that resulted in the arm touching the ball and it going in the net. It's a sport where you can't use your hands thus should not have stood. In case of the penalty, he moved his arm towards the ball which happened to be deliberate. Correct call. Even if it isn't deliberate you have to ask, if the arm wasn't there, would the ball have gone in the net? If yes, it's a foul thus a penalty. I also don't think you should be penalized twice for a foul in the box.

Clattenburg was disgusting today. At times I wonder what's the point of watching Premier League football. Literally every single one of the refs is inept and inconsistent beyond comprehension. Do decisions even themselves out over the course of a season? I'm not so sure anymore. The refs shuffle the deck and if you're lucky you end up a position higher and if you're unlucky or the ref doesn't seem to like you, you end up one lower. That entire gang needs a good clearout, but where will you get other, competent refs? Officiating in this sport is fecked.

If I put in a days shift like Clattenburg did there, I'd be fired on the spot, and maybe beaten with a tire iron.

He's the best ref in the world, I'll have you know.

Easily Arsenal's MOTM today

Handball so shouldn't be a goal. Not a handball for the penalty, not sure why the commentator said it was a hand ball, his arm wasn't up at all and that's how most players normally run or sprint anyway. May be I'm wrong for this one. But one thing for sure the one that has been playing this season is Sanchez FC not Arsenal

No fan of Bayern but I hope they annihilate these spawny feckers this week.
Nah, Arsenal to beat Bayern please. Arsenal loss means more pressure on wenger which generally leads to some good results for them

Very well said

A video element definitely needs to be introduced imo. And there's only a certain amount of times you can challenge within a match so you're not just using it to break up flow in stoppage time when you're 1-0 up ad under the cosh.

I don't get the argument against it. It will stop the game? Really? When he pulled out the yellow and all the Hull and Arsenal players were arguing with him and each other, a quick watch by a remote ref wouldn't have just been quicker? Its stupid.

Video refs need to be fast tracked to next season. And consistently overruled refs demoted, relegated, fined and even investigated for corruption. Too much mobey riding on games both for clubs and in bettibg for it to be any other way. Refs can and do decide games - obvious targets for betting syndicates.

Clattenburg apologised after seeing it again at half time apparently.

Fair play to him but it doesn't do much to help the team on the end of it. And like I said, I try not to blame refs a lot of the time but the red card decision was just stupid.

And then he comes out second half and makes a bigger mistake. He should be sent down to the Championship for a week or more after that. He was awful and always is

For the goal or the non-red card incident? The former, I could understand, but the the non-red card is inexcusable. He had seen it perfectly, called the foul and gave a yellow. There's no apology possible for that one, he didn't want or dare to give it, simple as that. What he should be apologizing for is being a coward or a corrupt twat, one or the other.

Edit: just realized you said half time, the non-red card was in the second so that answers my question. Still, he then proceeded to make an even bigger feck up. What a twat.

Can't understand Hull's play for fun attitude today, they played into Arsenal's hands.

The reporter interviewing Mata for Noggie TV

So he told Kieran Gibbs that it was a yellow 'because the ball was going away from goal'.

And it went away from goal cos Gibbs smashed into markovic who is trying to controlled the ball ahaha

I don't blame the ref for the first handball goal, that's on the Linesman to see

I thought the first Sanchez goal decision was bad, the red card for Hull was harsh but that Gibbs yellow was absolutely worse than Sunday league level of refereeing.

Hopefully the parliamentary reform of the FA will lead to some action within regards to the referees, they get away with too much without any repercussions whatsoever. They get paid to do a job, as many others have pointed out if we were to be as bad at our jobs as the referees we wouldn't last a week, and they should be performing it to the high level this game dictates.
Clattenburg needs to get a tattoo of the word shit on his forehead backwards so every time he looks in a mirror he sees the truth.

Should just import some European refs, watching the EL and CL you hardly ever come away from the match with the ref as the main talking point, in the PL that happens every weekend.

They've been shite for a while, but this season they are genuinely taking the piss.

Knowing our luck we would get Cunyet Cakir.

That's at least partly because when you're not supporting one team - or are against one team - it doesn't look as bad. Pretty much everyone thinks the referees are against his or her team, or in favour of that team's rivals.

Reading live threads on the forums of opposition fans is quite different to reading them on forums of fans of that team.

A lot of bbbbbbut and emmmmmms from the two Robbie's on NBC after the Clattenberg apology.
