Premier League matchweek 36 (may 5th-may 10th)

Ok.....so in League Two, their final day.....come on Hartlepool.....put a cheer on Stelings face if Newport don't do it! Also around 7 teams have a chance for the play offs.....

I'm probably a moron, but how are Sunderland already mathematically relegated? If they manage to win their remaining three games they'd be at 33 points, and if Swansea lose their remaining three games they'd end up at 32 points.

I must be missing something...
Sunderland would still be below Hull who have 34 points.

Hope Swansea win. I don't like Koeman and also that twat Mirallas really rubbed me the wrong way when we last met them, acting the 'ard man while simultanously feigning injury at every chance.

You can tell that Swansea are currently struggling with the diamond shape. They are always looking out wide for options but don't see them. The full backs need to push up higher, and Ayew needs to drift out to the flanks so that the midfielders have wide options to distribute to.

That's better from Swansea. Naughton pushes up, Ayew drifts out wide, and space opens up in the middle for Siggurdsson. That's what they need to continue doing.

Everton are struggling to defend against Swansea with their own lopsided diamond. Calvert-Lewin's been invisible so far, and Davies is struggling to get on the ball. His tendency to drift out to the left is leaving Everton light in the middle. Mirallas needs to drop deeper and link up the play so that Everton have some more midfield support. Playing as a second striker will make things more difficult for Everton.

EDIT: It seems like they finally settled into that 4-2-3-1 shape. The initial diamond shape was probably an initial reaction to Swansea's setup.

Swansea are looking comfortable so far. Everton haven't tested them enough. It seems like they're missing Barkley and his midfield dynamism quite a lot.

And just like that Swansea scored. They've been the better side, and they truly deserved a goal there.

Everton are being outclassed tactically. They've resorted to dropping numbers back and expecting Lukaku to hold the ball up for them like a target man.

Good header that. I'm still surprised Llorente is at Swansea - he was plying his trade at Juventus not long ago.

That was a crucial block from Holgate. Everton are all over the place at the moment.

Hull put themselves in troubles with that unnecessary loss at all.

The relegation battle looks more interesting than the first half of the table who seems dead already.

Everton should get more criticism for how much of a shambles they are at the back, they're lucky Gueye has had a great season. Some serious investment needed in the summer, Jagielka, Williams and the goalkeeper all need an upgrade.

This was the guy who's videos on defending were used to school the sub par Rio and Vidic on how to defend.

Moyes, ladies and gentlemen.
What's even funnier is that some Man. Utd. fans wanted him here as they thought that he was good enough.

Jagielka although now finished has been a great defender over the years. Obviously not Rio or Vidic level but he's always been one of the better defenders in the league in his time in the league.

I don't like Williams though i find him to be very clumsy .

Carroll and Britton have had great games today. Carroll has been well-disciplined and composed in possession in his wide midfield role, and Britton's been great as the anchor man, snuffing out danger well and being very good in possession of the football. Both have done a great job in relieving the pressure from Everton's midfielders and allowing Swansea to build up from the midfield.

Having said that, Ki's also been very good as their midfield playmaker. His passing, technique, and discipline are giving Everton a tough time.
