Premier League Sept 28-30

5under1and had 23 shots in this game (inc. blocked), their most in a PL game since December 2011

It's alright, we'll play Rio and be defensively solid.

I notice that Smalling, Jones, Evans and Vidic have no problems throwing themselves at shots to block them. Rio doesn't seem to do it and playing so many games one after another his concentration can go.

they'll no doubt appoint a new manager in the week, and they'll turn up in spades

I thought they turned up today to be fair . they put everything into that.

Toure has been very good for Liverpool, not the first time I've said that this season.

I have been surprised by him, again he was excellent today.

Not sure what they've done with Toure because he looked past it at City.

Yeah, but we can't even beat West Brom at home, it doesn't get any easier than that. They also beat us at their turf.

What's our result against West Brom got to do with Liverpool's chances of winning the title?

If anything, it makes Liverpool beating United less of an achievement.

Our results of course affect another teams chances of winning the title.

Heh. Admire your confidence.

Anyway. Someone said liverpool were title candidates based on their season so far. Someone else said they've had easy fixtures. The fact we lost yesterday makes absolutely no difference to liverpool's fixtures so far this season. As i said, if anything, it makes them slightly easier.

I'm not that confident, but I'm still as confident as I would be if I was a Liverpool fan!

Liverpool are more cohesive unit than United at the moment.

Would it be a disaster if Pool finish above us?

Yeah, of course it would.

Don't think it will happen though, despite them looking impressive so far.

We won't finish above United, still not sure we can make the top 4 - but for the moment we are making the most of our decent start.

Ummm... don't underestimate your chances. You're only in 2 competitions right now and with Suarez back, you've got a chance to do really well in the league.

Lucas is just a foul machine
. One yellow card away from an automatic one game suspension for accumulated yellow cards. 7 games into the season.
Lucas 5 yellow cards in 6 matches  already suspended for the next match
Or maybe he has been suspended? feck me he's a fouling machine that bloke. Never ever seems to get a second yellow either.

I might be wrong, but I'm sure Sky said it. I assume the cup yellow is included, 4 in the league, 1 in the cup?

Could be, he did get booked in the cup.

Toure is going to end up an absolute score for them. At very worst he's a big upgrade on Carragher.
Has gotten away with SO much shirt pulling this season it really is ridiculous. He could have easily given away 3 or 4 penalties so far.

I love him.

Kolo is a legend, and a quality player. Always has been. What were Arsenal and Man City thinking?

I just realised how incredibly round and small ears he has.

Hard to say but given the goals City have conceded so far maybe they should have kept him.

What astounds me is that he has the hunger for the game of an 18 year old, the ability and fitness of a 27 year old and the experienced head of a 33 year old. That is about as ideal a scenario as you could hope for in a footballer regardless of his real age.

Rodgers did absolutely nothing to make him like this. Nothing.

He was a liability at times for for us, that is why we let him go. Especially when Keown & Campberll left, Kolo should of become the lead defender but looked like he still needed guidance. Still early days but the guy had too many mistakes in him, he might be better now though. Was terrible in the air, guy was so athletic you'd think he could jump over the head of the striker yet always use to lose out in the air.

Wish him well though, always liked him.

Sturridge's tweets on Kolo have been phenomenal:

Just digging those up has got me all Kolo'd.

I think he left Arsenal cause him and Gallas couldn't get along. No use having 2 centre backs who aren't on speaking terms. With Gallas being captain, it may have been easier for Wenger to sell Toure.

I can't tell who is playing RW in our formation. I'd guess at Barkley but the FourFourTwo app has McCarthy...
