Ashley is poison to the club. Newcastle United as one of those clubs with history should be competing a the top/European places. I hope they do well and if they can keep Rafa, I think they will however their squad is awful due to a serious lack on investment. I read earlier they've had a net spend of £17m this summer with Ashley being really stingy as always.

He played "well"(about as good as you could expect him to play) against Juventus but Wanyama and Son are only just back from injury so it's enforced really. Lamela's still out injured too and won't be back for another couple of months yet.

I think Rafa's presence is the only reason everyone isn't tipping them to go back down. They look very light both up front and in midfield.
