Preseason:Kaizer Chiefs vs Manchester United 18/07/2006

1-0 Dong - who nearly got a second at the last gasp, and was unlucky when Scholes cut in front of him.

A good warmup.

Chiefs really went at us, and we got a good workout from it.

I reckon it will be them we will see on Saturday.

Whenever I seen him he over hit a pass, lost posession and couldn't tackle.

In the first half he was one of the few players who did not over hit his pass all the time, not saying he was great, no one was but he was, much better than some today, worked hard set up the goal and helped young simpson in defence.

mom was Richardson pity he got injured

Simpson had an excellent debut today, was really glad to see him make the step up, though I had no doubts that he wouldn't be able to make that step. I think he's one of our better junior's.

I've got to say that I'm starting to lose my faith in Fletcher. I've backed Fletcher in this site, and want to carry on doing so, but more and more I find little to defend. I know he can't play wide on the right and yes he did well to set the goal up, but had this been a league game his rating would have been 4 with 3 marks coming for the goal alone. His passing was awful, he slowed everything down and he hardly put in any tackles. If he continues this form into the season for real, I'm sorry but he'll be gone quicker than Jaap Stam.

Dong showed up well again tonight, been impressed with him on this tour to date.

Well, just got back after a few rounds from the pub.

Firstly, suprisingly Flethc got MOM but he didn't deserve it. If anyone deserved it, it would be Evra since he was consistently playing well. He defended brilliantly and showed composure going forward.

Flethc kept loosing the ball as usual. Dong looked good from the moment he came on. Scholes was poor at best and so was Ole. Giggs had a decent game and Richardson looked good till he was taken off.

All in all, I must say brilliant performance from the team I support locally, Kaizer Chiefs. They actually started with 1st team players on the bench like Ngobese and Mooki who changed the game when they came on.

In the end we won but hats off to Chiefs who showed that South Africans aren't pushovers...

I am fed up of people just giving bad reviews of players for the sake of it. All through the thread (except for a few posters), everyone was bashing Evra and Fletcher, but I thought they both played well enough (admittedly, I only watched the second half). But, based on the opinions here, you'd think they played real stinkers. Please get off their back, especially when their performance doesn't warrant such reviews.

Fletcher will have a great game then. He rises to the challenge and steps up when the situation demands. It's a pity we can't say that about most of our other players. Who put in a man of the match and game winning performance against Chelsea when they came to OT on a winning streak ?
Cometh the hour, Cometh the Fletch :p

The Chelsea slayer saves us from humiliation once again. Go Fletch !!

so all in all jones has looked the part in these two matches?

You might want to look at this before making comments against the Fletch -

He cooly rides a couple of challenges, fakes as if to shoot and set up a tap in for Dong.

iI have seen it, so he got somethng right and played well for 2 minutes...he was woeful for the majority of the game.

One decent assist does not make a pleyer worth hagning on to
