Qanon

Red Defence said that Q Anon was:

  • something everyone was talking about
  • a load of boring tripe
  • something he can't believe anyone fell for

I said those same things apply to the Mueller Report.

And I asked you why you brought up the Mueller report, seeing as those three bullet points could apply to loads of stuff (not to mention that the focus of Mueller report isn’t remotely as implausible as this QAnon bollox)

From what little I understand about QAnon, it's absolutely batshit mental, completely implausible, conspiracy theories with zero possible basis in reality.
From what I understand about the Mueller report it's an investigation into a highly plausible external influence on the American democratic process.
Are there other similarities I'm missing?

The idea that a powerful group of rich and famous people sexually abuse children isnt really that crazy.
There’s a tad more to the Qanon cult than merely rich people sexually abusing kids.

One of them is the fact that it’s a cult.

Yes but you find similar delusions on the Mueller said. The circumstances are different but the logic is the same.

You really don't. Like I keep saying most of the QAnon shit is genuinely batshit mental.
I'm still genuinely confused about why you're so keen on tarring the Mueller report with the same brush.
It's like someone trying to drag it into a conversation about contrails, or David Icke and his lizard people.

You really do. Maybe that's why you are confused. I think the delusions are similar, you dont.

Ok, spell it out for me. What "delusion" related to the Mueller report is similar to Obama and Clinton being masterminds behind a child sex trafficking ring, or the Rothschilds being leaders of a satanic cult?

You really don't.

I dunno, I've seen a lot of whacky shit coming from the #Resistance side of things. Maybe none of the specific theories has the cult following or goes quite so far as Qanon, but there's loads of crazy stuff out there. And I think you have to keep in mind that the poster @Eboue's remark was directed at - a fanatical Mueller devotee - recently speculated that William Barr may have been behind the attempted suicide of Brian Epstein, since he happened to be in New York on the same day.

People thinking Mueller would find more than he did does not equal people "finding meaning" in anonymous cryptic messages on 4chan.

But if you simply mean there's whackos on the left and right then yeah, there definitely are. Some of them post on here.

Aha. There's the context I was missing. The comment just seemed so random otherwise. The Mueller report is what it is. If people want to believe a bunch of other, far-fetched stuff, in and around that report then that's their perogative. It's still very different to QAnon which isn't based on anything nearly as tangible.

Not really. The Mueller investigation has legitimacy to it and rational people can come to reasonable conclusions even if those conclusions weren't 100% accurate. To this day, it's agreed by many that his report suggests an impeachment process. Only some people out there invented these wild conclusions and it's not even close to cult levels. Compare that to Qanon people. Literally anyone talking about it seriously sounds like a loon.

There really is a group of high level sex offenders in this country though. JFK Jr isnt involved, Trump isnt working behind the scenes to bring them down and it has nothing to do with that pizza place in DC. But the Epstein stuff is real.

But when you put it that way, that's not really limited to the scope of Qanon is it? #MeToo comes to mind.

@Eboue is also conflating paedophilia with ephebophilia. The sort of "child sex trafficking" the loons are talking about in pizzagate is very different to the rich man sleeping with teenagers stuff that's coming out about Epstein (and, allegedly, Bill - not Hilary - Clinton). Obviously, both -philias are morally wrong (IMO) but there's a world of difference between the two.

Somewhat related, but there is a branch of loons out there who believe Clinton and friends harvest the pineal glands out of children's brains and eat them for power. No, I'm not joking.

Yeah, was gonna mention that. Didn't know it was pineal glands they were snacking on but I did hear something about the Clintons being involved in eating children. Which is, obviously, comparable to an investigation into electoral interference.

An underrated #Resistance conspiracy theory is the idea that Trump and his father were frontmen for the Genovese family in the 70s and 80s, and were subsequently adopted by the Russian mafia as they took control of NYC’s organized crime scene from La Cosa Nostra in the 90s, giving the Russians leverage over Trump and making Mueller, who convicted John Gotti, the most suitable figure to came him down.

I’m not a fanatical Mueller devotee, I just happen to have followed the investigation very closely over the last 2 years and my comment about Barr really was a random light-hearted comment. He always directs weird comments at me if I support Mueller’s findings cos he can be a bit of a stalker at times. We’ll all eventually see just what Mueller did find and it will be more than most think.

Also, there's a matter of what can legally be done to Trump as a result of the investigations as opposed what they know to be true about Trump.

You understand how a forum works right? People respond to other people who say things they find interesting.

I think anyone who speculates about anything on online fora for too long, in too much obsessive detail - surrounded by equally obsessive like minded souls - ends up going a little bit mental.

See also Game of Thrones and Star Wars fans.

Less underrated more just accepted I'd imagine?

Long said nobody got a building built in NYC unless the Mafia said so. Can't remember if it was a Genovese or Gambino don or whatever who said Trump absolutely didn't without him saying so. Think the clip may even be on Youtube somewhere.

EDIT - https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2018/08/trump-gravano-gotti-mafia/568273/

Nobody runs a casino into the ground unless they don't care because they're money laundering, more than likely for the mob. Atlantic City especially is mob territory isn't it?

One would suspect that a certain Mr. Mogilevich isn't far away from anything related to Trump or Putin because he's king ding.
