QPR vs. Manchester United

Glad that Chicha gets another start. Good team. :)

I actually look forward to see DDG, he's a joy to watch.

Decent team glad to see Nani start after the Reading performance. What's with Cleverley being left out recently though?

Kagawa not even on the bench. Hopefully not injured.

Can see Cleverley coming in for Young with Giggs going wide somewhere around the 60th minute mark. Why exactly can't Cleverley not play two games in 5 days?

I might be wrong and/or this might not even make sense, but I think this has less to do with Cleverley "not being picked" than it has with others being picked. In all fairness apart from Carrick Cleverley's played the most of our midfielders.

Remember not to criticise Giggs if he plays badly, it's cool to "appreciate" him again.

Remy might be trouble when he comes on later. Long balls on Zamora for the first 60 mins for QPR.

probably not.
the thing is we have so many quality players that some are bound to miss out on games, especialy when we've barely got any injures.

Giggs in the middle seems a bit random when we've got Anderson and Cleverley sitting on the bench. I understand using him there when we're short on numbers or even at home, but away from home, when there is no need to do so? Stick him on the wing... Other than that the line-up is just fine. Would've loved to see Kagawa in place of Young and Rooney upfront, but can't complain about our options off the bench. Come on United!

It's not really a game that suits Kagawa though is it? Away to a scrapping relegation side.

Kagawa must be injured surely? He'd have been a good option to bring off the bench against a team that's going to sit back and defend all day.

If I had to guess, Fergie sees us dominating them and them holding firm and tight and for someone like Giggs to be the key that unlocks.

My fear is that without a second "proper" CM in there we won't be completely dominating the midfield and the potential wastefulness of Giggs' speculation could invite pressure on to us.

Hope Nani has a blinder. How have we done recently with Giggs starting as CM? I dont remember it to favourably. Out left is a different proposition.

Not sure why Cleverley isn't paired with Carrick? Just put Giggs on the left instead of Young that is in lofty form.

It's not love if he deserves to start, it would be hate if he wasn't starter.

Annoys me that Cleverly misses out, I'd have rathered Giggs on the left with Clev in the middle. Gets a bit frustrating that Fergie seems less keen on pushing through a midfielder these days. If Giggs and Carrick were to get injured today we'd be fecked for the rest of the season.

Still think that side is easily good enough though and should beat them by a couple.

I thought we'd seen the last of these dumb midfield selections.

Also, why is Hernandez in the team after his genuinely pathetic performance against Reading? QPR always sit back so it's not like he's going to stretch them or run in behind.

Glad Vidic starts. Cleverley should be starting for me, if Giggs was going to play then he should be at LM.

Giggs playing in the middle is pretty unexpected and in this season hadn't end well. Glad that Nani and Chicharito start.

Nice to see the as usual moaning about Giggs in the starting lineup.

I love Giggsy, but not sure I would start him at CM, in an away match, without Rooney up top as Roo will drop back in and help out in the middle if we are struggling, but we are playing with 2 up top who will be less likely to do the dirty work. Glad to see Nani get a go. To be honest, should be more than enough in that team to roll Rangers.

I'd preferred Giggs coming off the bench against a tired QPR side. And Cleverley instead of him in the starting line up to provide cover.

Otherwise good side, excellent to see Nani in the starting line up.

I think its as much about where he's playing rather than him playing. Its a bit annoying to constantly see our actual CMs get overlooked. If he was in a midfield 3 today no one would be complaining.

I'm happy he's on but I'd like to see him on the left.

I'd imagine that the bulk of the team put out today will be playing against Madrid.

good team, should hopefully be more than enough for QPR, hoping Nani pushes on with his recent form.

I don't mind him in the starting line up, but how about not in a position he's failed to play well in since about three years ago?

Also, Hernandez...I mean, I like him, but he was so unbelievably fecking shit in the Reading game. He shouldn't be near the squad after that, let alone in the team ahead of both Welbeck and Rooney.

RvP has scored as many PL goals as the entire QPR team. Let's hope he goes past them today  And QPR is one of the 3 PL teams this season he's yet to score against.

Perfect game for him I think, his runs on the last man will mean the defence wont always be able to stand still on the edge of their box meaning pockets of space will open up when defenders drop in to pick him up.

On balance I think Fergie has got the team pretty much spot on, its up to the players now to get the job done.

Our other options were Anderson who was awful for most of the match against Reading and Cleverley who can't seem to play two matches consecutively.

I'd have gone for Cleverley myself but don't think this deserves as much as criticism as its getting.

I'd have preferred Welbeck over Hernandez.

Both will surely be starting in the Madrid 2nd leg. I think it's fair to give hernandez gametime in between. Though he was poor vs. Reading.
