Question Time & This Week

Because it seems she does not have in-depth access to the parts of Muslim communities where these issues might occur and so won't fully understand how things work. That came across on several occasions. As I said, theoretical and not practical.

I might be wrong, but that's how she came across to me. I've just ordered her book off Amazon to have a read.
One is a politician who does not follow the religion, the other does follow it, has met probably thousands if not tens of thousands by leading seminars and talking to muslims, works at an organisation that attempts to curb extremism as well as writing books on the subject. I suspect your summation of a reluctant muslim comes from disagreeing with some of what she said rather than anything objective about her.

It would appear - from my 3 minutes of in depth research - that Sara Khan is a 'hardline progressive' and also a woman. This might explain why most of her advocacy is theory based & grounded in academia. #WesternValuesRule

apols if that description reads a bit scathingly - maybe she's right, we don't seem to know do we?

You can suspect all you like.

yes, that's how her opinions came across to me

Again. There's a big difference between what monty said and calling her a reluctant muslim. No true Scotsman and all that.
To be honest I have no idea what your needle is here! Anyways good night :)

The Youtube comments on that video are really infuriating.

Check the name of the uploader.

Though I can't see any comments, I just see something saying 183 comments and nothing underneath.

David Davis actually coming across well, despite my reservations (and missed a bit of the programme). Go Haltemprice & Howden, my birth constituency.

I wish Spitting Image was still going.

What's the point when May manages to melt her own face and say equally ridiculous things on a daily basis. She's the last remaining Thatcher horcrux. You can't parody a parody.

Deep down, you are well Brexit.

I suspect Davis has copied the mannerisms and attitude of Kenneth Clarke, the difference being that Ken tended to use actual facts to back his opinions up, Davis is from the soundbite era, content irrelevant.

I used to live & work in Barnet, this should be quite a representative audience. They also seem confused - ''want to have their cake & eat it'' for me.

It looks to be a balanced audience. Been watching it for the past 20 mins and no one getting huge cheering or applause.
