Rafael

Wish Fabio would have the chance to kick on and develop like Rafael. Would be immense having both twins playing for us in the future, especially if they turn into Evra-clones

Put him against any opposition, in any competition and he can handle it in this form. He's mastering the art of defending so quickly and we should proud of the transformation he's made. That RB slot isn't going anywhere soon and I won't be surprised to see him inherit Gary Neville's number at the start of next season. He's playing like an experienced first team regular.

I'm not surprised by his outstanding performances for a player so young anymore. And he's coming up against Gareth Bale next week.

Love the lad. Another world class performance. If anything I think Nani has been letting him down by being too selfish some of the time.

The big question is if he can consistently maintain this level over a long time. If he can, then feck me we have a serious player on our hands.

He has been performing better consistently this season. He is what, only 20? He is going to develop into one of the best right backs in the world. Take that Alves and Maicon! We have someone who is going to be better than you twats!

On form.

Half a season isn't enough for a kid to be more highly rated than somebody who has proven to be the best in his position for about four seasons in a row. No matter how good the performances.

You will agree with me soon, I can assure you.

Really good performance today, he was one of four alongside Ferdinand, Carrick and Giggs who were my potential MOTMs. He's going to be a hugely important player for us for years

I think I'd loan out Fabio, as if he can provide us similar from the left, it would be immense, but you can see that he appears to be at least a season and a half to two seasons behind him, he needs some football.

Just send him to get some regular football and start developing like we've seen Rafael has by getting games

 is this part of some MI5 Opperation: Mind-feck?

Shocking may have been abit of an overstatement, I meant judging him on his usual standards.

Misplaced a fair few pass's today, rushed on the ball. Positionally wasn't brilliant and didn't get forward nearly as much as he usually does. Giggs got caught out a few times because of lack of support.

Rafa was the far better fullback today.

I hope not. Gaz will retire at the end of this season and it appears Brown's future is up in the air. I'd rather keep his as back up next season as he can cover on the left and right.

Best Right Back in the League on current form.

Evra was shocking today. Was hoping we'd bring on Fabio to see what he could do.

Eh?

I thought Evra was excellent, and he got forward lots.

Aye, I thought Evra did well too.

Rafael's been fantastic of late. It's pretty clear he's been told to be more selective with his runs forward and as a result the defensive side of his game has improved in spades. It looks to me like we have the right back position well and truly filled for the next few years.

I still think he needs more football than he is getting, look at how Rafael is doing by playing and learning, we saw against WBA (? or was it Stoke) how he struggled, he had that diving in and overcommitting that Rafael first had, which is understandable. He needs games, and he's just not getting enough

I agree he needs more games than he's getting and as a result he's a year or so behind Rafael in his development but I'd much rather he remained at the club. He will get more opportunities next season and we've already seen with Rafael what results we can expect if Fergie manages him in the same way.

How great wouldn't it be if Fabio was a right winger? They'd scare (and confuse) the shit out of defenders.

Rafael for RedCafe player of January.

He's the best RB in the league now, along with Sagna imo.

Not read the 35 page discussion but for what it's worth my two penneth is

Rafael is fookin ace. Uniteds right back for the next 10 years.

That's all.

Summed up quite perfectly if you ask me.

Don't be so dramatic

pot calling the kettle black?

Rafael is starting to look very solid, great composure and skill too.

He combines the energy of tevez (sry) with the composure of Ferdinand with the skill of Giggs!

Eh?

I agree he's fantastic, but its hardly a tragedy a 20 y o kid hasnt got a full cap for brazil. He's got his whole career in front of him

Yes, but I'm sure he doesn't think it's an actual tragedy. Probaby tongue in cheek or to be taken with a pinch of salt.

I'd be still slightly wary of over using him at this stage in his career.

However, he has come on leaps and bounds this season, if he continues that kind of form then Fergie can put away the cheque book

I'd agree with that. No need to run him into the ground and risk him getting injured or burning out to early. Would be sensible to start bringing Fabio through to stop Evra being the only reliable big game option at left back.

You're not familiar with his posts then presumably?

No, am I missing something?

I wouldn't be surprised if come the end of this season/mid next season I also believe Rafael has overtaken Evra. He's in the process of doing so as we speak. But a few months is simply far too early to say he's already done so. That's my issue with your statement.

If Vidic struggled for form for the first half of a season and Evans was outperforming him, would you say Evans is already better?

The cheque book can feck right off.

Who's that then?

Surely not this guy....?

Is one match enough for Maicon to be completely underrated ? I mean seriously, is it that simple ? I could show a clip of any player in a bad situation but that wouldn't tell anything.Only idiots think like that
Plus D.Alves is ahead of Rafael when it comes to that position, he's been amazing this season.

rapidly becoming one of my fav united players, he was immense again yesterday.

Rafael is the first choice Right Back from now on. No need to buy anyone, he's been brilliant since October. He's the most improved player in the squad and cutting it close with Nani for player of the season thus far.
