Time For Ruudy to get a few goalsssssss

Time to put the jocks in their place.

Hope Giggsy makes it, he's very important in European games.

I think this will be one of the least 'European' games United will ever play!
I think it'll be furious anger for the first 15 or 20mins as Rangers try to put the smack down on United. United are used to that however, and I think class will show in the end. Neville, Giggs and Keane will be very important though for the experience needed to keep the head when things get heated (and they will)....if Ronaldo plays, I think he'll be battered from pillar to post - if he comes through that unscathed, then he'll be doing well.

Yeah, but the referee will be applying the usual CL level of strictness. I mean any barbaric tackles from rangers will be met with punishment. RFC have little CL experience and may not adjust to the competition especially with their fans demanding so much. They are used to old firm games but the same physical tactics will not pay off on wednesday. We will thump them and I am so glad Keane is on form to enjoy it!

Sounds quite uninformed imo. Rangers have CL experience - they've been in it quite regularly over the past five years or so. They have players who know the European game and it will not be one sided at all. They're top of the group and at home so they'll give us problems. A draw would not be the worst possible result in the world for us, but we should go for the win.

rangers > celtic...
so......
prediction: rangers 0 Man Utd 2
i do wanna c Ronaldo score!!!

Rangers may try to play physical, but with CL referees, they'd be getting yellow cards galore before they realise what they've done.

Class will tell in the end and I hope Ronaldo scores.

It's funny how no one fancies Rangers to spring a surprise on us. Have we learnt nothing from Stuttgart? Most of you lot have not seen Rangers play for 90 minutes, and have no idea how they'll play against us. Being so cocksure is arrogant imo.

There is a very thin line between arrogance and confidence. I have every confidence in our manager & our team to beat oppositions from a small league. :)

Confidence sure but cockiness is what you said.

Class will tell in the end....... we're a better team than Stuttgart but we were embarassed big time.

I have confidence in the lads' ability as a team to beat anyone on their day, but anything can happen.

Which of my messages did you find me "cocky"??

We are not going to make the same mistake as against Stuttgart again.

I hope MU defence performs well. No more 2 goals in 3 minutes and the like.

Given the fact that Rangers have a very similar style to Premiership teams, I think we can assume that won't score a "kicked goal" against us. ;)

They bought a Portuguese bloke named Capucho. He can be deadly when he's on top of his game.

We really should be able to handle any player in Europe. As long as United play okay, we should prevail...

I fancy the sweaties, and I don't think that it will be too much of a surprise either. Beware of over-confidence, from someone who knows all about over-confidence.:D

He's been useless so far. Probably our weakest link. O'Shea shouldn't have too many problems dealing with him.

I imagine Rangers will play:

GK Klos
LB Ball
RB Ricksen
CB Moore
CB Berg
CM Zurab Khizanishvilli
CM Arteta
CM Emerson
One of Lovenkrands, Capucho, Vanoli or Nerlinger
ST Mols
ST Arveladze

I'm not sure at all that "class will tell".
I think that passion will play a bigger part in this fixture than anything else, and therefore anything can happen really.
Class didn't tell on saturday at Leeds, where although we deserved to win we were not very far from being embarassed.
Rangers are much better than the current Leeds side, and if they score first (not such a wild scenario) we'll have a huge mountain to climb.

It would be typical United to bounce back from the Stuttgart game and trash Rangers. Being norwegian i rarely have the opportunity to watch them scots on the telly so my knowledge is limited.
How would they have ranked in the EPL?, above mid table?

TBH,I am not too confident about this,Rangers are a decent side, they have quality players that could open up our defence but I do think we will keep them at bay.

Rangers central defence are not good enough for Champions League, with Berg and Moore. They have looked shaky whenever I have watched them play,so I hope Scholes and co would be able to open them up.

Rangers had a bad result at the weekend, drawing with Motherwell(BTW a lad called Pearson scored the equaliser for Motherwell and seems to be bright).

We have learnt our lesson I feel, not to understimate any opponent, and it will be a tight and a few tempers would let go.But as we should hopefully prevail, but I am not confident at all after Sttutgart.

Forget about the atmosphere and all that, Man Utd have far too much experience to be intimidated. I personally think that if we play to our ability we should beat them and if we can't score at least 2 gaols against rangers defence of "Berg and Moore" I would be really dissapointed!!.

reading some of the Scottish articles, there has been a lot of talk of giving the club captain a bit of extra attention!I wonder what odds you would get on a Roy Keane hatrick?!?

To be honest, I am very afraid about tomorrow as I was against Stutgard. I may act cocky to cover my concern, but I personaly have not thought that we have played a given game in the last year or so. When you play in the CL everything is possible, and we should be prepared. I will be glad if we end up with a draw, and delighted if we win.

So the team for tomorrow

------Howard----------
Gazz---Rio---Mickey---JOS
-----Keane---P. Neville
Forlan----Scholes---Ronaldo
---------Ruud-------------

Or if giggs is fit,

---------Howard----------
Gazz---Rio---Mickey---JOS
-----Keane---P. Neville
Ronaldo----Scholes---Giggs
---------Ruud-------------

Howard
Gaz Rio Silvestre O'Shea
Keano Phil
Fletcher Scholes Giggs
Ruud

Fletch will be fired up being in Scotland. Giggs and Ruud. 2-0.
