Rangers FC vs. Manchester United

HT, bit up and down, started well and should have had a stonewall penalty, but dropped off a bit and let them back in the game. Carrick has been brilliant and Fabio looks lively down the left. If Rooney and Berbarov can start making things work up top we should be in good shape.

Rooney very unlucky to not have scored.

Manchester united very lucky not to have conceded.

Adding..
Those two can help us if they bother to try and close down defenders.

To be fair, the lack of a cutting edge has a lot to do with the amount of players Rangers have in their box.

We need to score, don't want this 5 man defence tactic to be catched on by PL teams hoping it will nullify United.

Carrick and Scholes will never have this much space in midfield again, Rangers back 9 are sitting so deep that both have acres of space to stroll into a pick their passes, only problem is the box is so cluttered we need an eye of the needle pass or some better crossing.

I'm a little concerned with Fabios defending though. He seems to be falling into the same trap as Rafael did last season. Attacking too frequently high up the pitch and being caught out of position.

When he does attack though he seems to make things happen however.

Smalling just looks so good, almost scarily good.

Should have started with a stronger lineup. That defence is rusty enough to make a bad feckup or two. Giggs and Rooney have hardly played for weeks. Bernatov in poor form. Scholes having an off night.

Why takes chances? We've a home game at the weekend. Play our back 4 from last weekend and Rangers would have no chance of scoring and we go through tonight. As it is the chance that we lose is still there.

We need a Scholesy 30 yarder, Rangers just retreat whenever we get into their half.

Can't Fergie pull Berba aside one training session and just say "Look, stop acting like a cnut whenever a pass doesn't reach you, it doesn't help. You spaz."

Might be no harm if he did, i wouldn't mind but 2 mins before he went bitching about a pass not getting to him he hit a woeful pass to O'Shea who was waiting on the wing, went wide for a goal kick.

That shit drives me mad!

Rangers are a disgrace. Big team my arse!

I'd be ashamed if I was a rangers fan.

Rooney has been rubbish, looks like he's continuing with his World Cup form!

He always takes a few starts to play himself into form when he's had a spell of injury/inaction, no big concern.

I think we've played alright given that Rangers have had 10 men behind the ball for the majority of the half.

It'll be a good 2nd half because the Rangers players will learn at half time that they need to win in order to stay in the CL.

Don't know what is more frustrating Rangers parking the bus yet again or listening to bloody Craig Burley and his ABU crap on STV. Berbatov went down looking for it according to him yet when replay was shown making it even more clear cut it was 'Refs have given penalties for those sort of challenges' then slates Nani for going down in the box completely missing the elbow he got in the face.

Rangers are a Division 2 quality side. It would explain their approach and all.

Credit to Rangers, it's anti-football and what not but they do it phenomenally well.

I absolutely hate that guy.

I was screaming "fecking hell nani again" when I realised this time he really had blood in his mouth after watching the same thing for 30956780213957 times

Just got in having missed the first half. Just saw a penalty claim that perhaps we should have gotten, and Rooney hitting the bar in highlights. That about it? How have we been playing?
Decent first half I thought; We lack a bit of cutting edge, but it's not easy as Rangers' box is incredibly crowded and they basically have ten men behind the ball whenever we move in their half.
Miller had the best chance of the game to be fair, so 0-0 seems a fair result.

How the feck can that extra official not give that penalty? I mean seriously, that's as obvious as they come!

He didn't fancy 89 minutes of Rangers fan abuse, the only logical explanation.
