It doesn’t matter what video he posts, he was beyond bad last season. The lack of effort was obvious and particularly frustrating. There were a number of players in the squad that kept on running and trying to make things happen. He was the very worst in terms of posture/example on the pitch.

No matter what people argue about “instructions” he wasn’t reacting to anything, wasn’t chasing after loose balls and turned his back a few times on chances because he just assumed they were gone and couldn’t be bothered. It really was unforgivable.

He has a LOT to do this season and a video like this doesn’t give him any positive points back. In fact, until his attitude changes, fans will react negatively to smoke screens such as this one.

ETH needs to bring the standards back. Not just anyone can play for Manchester United. Rashford needs to hit the ground running or he needs to leave. He is in the last chance saloon no matter what he posts in social media.

I hope we are about to see his best ever season in a United shirt.

Aren't the players supposedly on holidays now? This would be to show that instead of resting on his laurels/being lazy he recognizes that last season was not good enough so he's putting in the work to ensure he hits the ground running ()

Thought it was fine. Controlled motion, medium weight and adherence to form. It's only bad when you go superheavyweight and swing the weight wildly. That being said dumbell shoulder press, chest press and dumbbell rows aren't exactly what I'd imagine will enhance an athletes functional performance. Heavy hypertrophy focused benefits. Going out on a limb and guessing this is more for the summer beach bod.

It's a generational thing. These guys under 30 grew up in the social media age where even taking a poo merits a photo or video with a generic quote as the headline. No need to yell at the clouds IMO they mostly all do it.

For me there's a big difference between not putting the effort in, not being good enough or playing disjointed football which would effect performances. Players like Bruno, Ronaldo, Fred, McT, Telles, Dalot, Elanga all at least tried. Sancho I'll forgive as it's his first season in the PL but Rashford stood out as a player not in the least interested in trying to work himself into some sort of form. I can't believe supporters have that short of memory that the excuses are starting all over again when it was generally agreed that Rashford basically downed tools and was rightfully dropped for his performamces all through the season when he came back from injury just a few short weeks ago.

I think Rashford stands out more because there is a stronger focus on him from the media, similar to Pogba, Lingard and Maguire, for example, because they spent too much time on social media doing pointless PF nonsense, which only serves to open them up to more criticism from the fans. I feel if they'd just shut up and concentrate on improving their overall game, rather than merely tweet about it, they'd go under the radar more and be less open to scrutiny.

You barely heard a word from Sancho last season, so his underperforming went relatively unnoticed. We were too busy watching another Pogba or Rashford training montage, or Lingard wearing his favourite West Ham shirt, or Maguire headbutting 12 Greek police officers to care what Sancho was doing.

Everyone's performance is based on confidence in you and your ability / form etc. I think he might be needing that more than others and perhaps wasn't getting it from the previous manager. He definitely didn't help himself with us by delaying the shoulder op etc though.

I'm personally looking forward to how ETH will manage him as Rashford seems to be looking forward to working with him so who knows, I have often felt he's played out of position to suit Ronaldo, Cavani etc and maybe won't be next year

Well, to be fair he's getting criticism because he's absoluely asked for it. He was abysmal this past season, his attitude was worse than useless. And I say this as someone who used to like and respect the guy. I've lost patience now, though. It's entirely right what was posted above: getting and staying fit is simply part of his job, and shouldn't need social media display or endless congratulations. Correct me if i'm wrong, but he played for Ole during the crazy covid sequence of games while struggling with an injury. That will have a toll on a player and will have both short term and long term effects for Rashford. I'm not surprised he struggled this season, i'm actually shocked not more players in the PL struggled with injuries and form post insane covid.

Rashford stood out because he was the most disinterested player by a distance anytime he played - period. I can accept a player struggling for form, forcing things, being confused, and just not being good enough. That's not Rashford, he would come on the pitch and stroll around sulking in season defining games - that's unforgivable.

Obviously the extracurricular stuff brings added attention, but I don't care about all that anyway. I care about what's happening on the pitch and Rashford's behaviour (I intentionally avoided performances) was extremely despicable.

P.s. I agree with the general sentiment that they should just shut up and concentrate on their games. If they were doing well however, no one would mind these extras

If he had anything about him he would have shown it in effort on the pitch.

He didn’t.

He is not a Manchester United player in that aspect alone (see SAFs criteria for recruitment). He literally has no excuse.

It is inexcusable that he resorts to social media when he should actually be trying to help the team, Manchester United FFS. How lucky is he even to be on the payroll of an institution of this magnitude? It beggars belief.

The club has been a bit of a sh*tshow for some time now. Why can we all easily accept that but then not be able to accept that the same situation might have affected players form?

We are all too quick to attack everything nowadays. It's a new beginning for the club with lots to be excited about. IMO everyone should reset, park the moaning for a while and try to be positive, at least until we have new reasons not to be.

Saying what Rashford posted does nothing to me isn't attacking him though. I'm just sharing that I need and hope to see much more from him on the pitch before turning my opinion on him. If you consider that as attacking and moaning then you're very very wrong
