That thread really is top draw. A few sensible unbiased posters talking sense (fair play to em) but the majority... dear me. No hopes the lot of em!
Don't worry. We'll be back. We are finally picking up the pieces and if we play our cards right we will challenge for the league. That I'm sure of.
We have KK back, a manager who the players respect and want to play for. Assuming we beat Spurs, we would have beaten at some point in the season all of the teams who will finish above us (OK, bar Arsenal but a rare Pepe mistake stopped that from happening)
With a tactically clueless shitehouse of a manager we came back from 2-0 at their ground, played 12 against 10 in the FA cup thanks to that twat Webb and destroyed them at Anfield.
I like how we are quietly going about our business. I just hope we can beat Spurs in a few weeks as it would be a massive sign of intent for next season.
Let the glory hunters have their moment, the redmen are comnig up the hill!
I feel sorry for Berbatov really, as technically he is probably our best player, but Hernanez scares the shit out of defences and drags them all over the show. I don't care it it's Schalke or Barcelona, that lad is one hell of a weapon! Creates space all over the show.
If this lot win the double then we should have no worries about going for the league next year. They're average in the extreme, and if they can go for it...
This competition is shit. Ive said it for ages and tonight just nails it for me.
I mean Spurs got to the quarters - a staggeringly average side, United are in the final practically with a side thats struggled away from home in most of the prem. Chelsea got to the quarters with their average performances too and a lot of misfiring forwards.
The champions league is no longer the competition it was and football in general is in a rotten state. Spain has become Scotland and the Prem - well no one seems to want to win the thing. Italy is a mess and the less said about France, Netherlands and Portugal the better, their sides excel in the Europa.
Gone are the days when it was a strong premier competition where you could name sides like Ajax, Munich, Dortmund, Juventus, The Milans, Barca and Real, Marseille and Benfica as heavyweights. Its just dead. When spurs can go to Milan and win 1-0 you know somethings up. And as someone posted above, the run of teams United have had, theres at least 5 of them that could be considered Europa class.
Garbage comp along with the even worse Europa.
Europa they won't even play in next season and with the way City and Tottenham progress, they might not even get a shot at CL football in a few years because top three are so far ahead of them it's unthinkable they will catch up anytime soon.
Glen Johnson is every bit as good as yer Maicon's and Evra's, just he hasn't had the team around him like they have.
We’re going to piss the league next season. - The Liverpool Way
Also something I saw in another thread;

Who are 3 points ahead of you with a game in hand in the league.....

Let us guess, the standard of the CL has dropped since they last won it and they were the last team to win it when it was a good competition. The fact that we are in the semis with two of the teams he has mentioned above and there is one surprise package does not mean anything to these fecking idiots does it? The evidence that comes over from RAWK just makes them seem like an absolute bunch of clueless feckwits!!!!
How on earth they have the audacity to slate both the CL and the Europa Cup are beyond me especially when they couldn't get past the powerhouse of Portuguese football, Braga.
Rawk said:The red faced twat would win the league with Stoke!
Rawk said:He wouldn't mate because he wouldn't be part of the MU institution that benefits from so much luck and advantage.
He luckily stumbled across a bunch of kids that set him up for life and made some class signings from his many ventures in the transfer market. But proportionally maybe not as many class signings as Rafa in his short term.
N
I suggest everyone shuts the feck up and moves on.
Our run isn't too dissimilar to the sort of teams Liverpool were playing when they racked up 4 European Cups in a decade in the 70s/80s, when only league champions actually qualified. We've knocked out the champions of Scotland, Turkey, France and England, and may well play the champions of Spain in the final.
If this year has been piss poor, so was '77, '78, '81 and '84.
Bullied by us under Kenny, bullied by City the other night, bullied at Stamford Bridge in the league
Newcastle and Westham both out played them in recent weeks, Bolton the other week they stole the points in the last minute undeservedly.
feck even Wolves, Blackpool, Crawley and Southampton gave them a good match, Wolves beat them and Blackpool should have after being 2-0 up.
I do hate United, but talking subjectively i do think they are just OK-good, Ferguson is incredible, Man Utd definetly aren't.
Marseille, Bursaspor, Rangers, Valencia, Chelsea, Schalke - two very good teams in that list
They beat Valencia with a goal in the last 5 minutes away after being out played and Soldado being a shithouse, followed by a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford.
Then beating Chelsea away, despite two blatant penalties not given to chelsea - then they beat 10men Chelsea 2-1, worth noting were going through a bad patch.
Man Utd are good, but Jose or Pep will do them in the final, class will eventually shine through and Real and Barca have it in abundance.
