Reading are not good at that type of play. They usually allow a lot of space for opponents, and goals as well.
Carricka and Hargreaves could be effective against Reading - at least, they will protect back 4 very well for sure.

Came to this thread expecting this.
1.) Carrick was better than Anderson last game. He is a brilliant passer, still ahead of Anderson in that respect imo.
2.) Reading are playing 3 men in the middle, Hargreaves will bring alot of energy and can win us possesion.
3.) Anderson could do with a rest, anyway.
4.) We have Rooney, Ronaldo and Tevez all starting. I'm not worried about a lack of creativity in this one.

Neither of them is strong in making space for themselves in a tight midfield. If Reading drop off them and give them space than yes they'll be okay together.
