Real Madrid v Liverpool | Champions League Final (May 26th, 2018)

That would ruin a season for me. I wouldn't care how well we played to get there, it's a kick in the balls, what if moment that would linger all summer.

It's the worst way to lose a final. Absolutely gut wrenching.

I said Liverpool would get beat. Madrid just have to much quality in their team.

Liverpool fans are deluded to think they were going to win the final lol.

This as the model but with Karius second blunder and the CL trophy mate

One from a legend in the Karius thread

Funny old game football.
This time last week I was hating everything to do with the game and was thinking of taking up volleyball or something.
One of the things we need to protect is that we are STILL the only English club to win the World Club Championship, and today it was under threat.
Now I love the game again. Even forgot about last Saturday (for now).

What a wonderful night's entertainment. Nothing like a Liverpool calamity to put a smile on my face. The thought of having to go through a whole summer and next season of hearing about Liverpool winning the CL would have been unbearable. I want to thank Real and Karius for making sure the world is just that little bit better tonight.

They comfortably saw Liverpool off without ever looking like hitting medium gear! Imagine if Ronaldo had turned up!

He has such a luxury of not having to show up and his teammates finishing the job like the euro final and the Bayern legs and the final.

Bale was immense to his credit

It seemed that all Liverpool faded away with Salah exit.
Liverpool look like a typical english team based just on pace and running and that's it. I can't remember a team as poor defensively (and midfield) as this Liverpool.

We were outclassed once Salah went off. Our heads dropped. Shows his importance to the team. Can't legislate for Karius making two monumental blunders in the highest profile club game in Europe. Real hit the bar, had a goal correctly disallowed for offside. Aside from our goal we hit the post. Mane was our brightest light. I thought defensively we did ok. VVD has made a big difference.
Credit to Real. Fabulous achievement to win 4/5 of the last European cup finals. For ZZ to win 3 in a row is remarkable. A lot of mileage on the clock so expect changes in RM's squad for 2018/19.

Who knows. The way things were going while Salah was on the pitch Bale may have been coming on 0-3 down.

You are talking about freak hypotheticals while I'm talking about what actually happened. Ronaldo was the 2nd worst player on the pitch after Karius and Madrid didn't give a feck and brought on a killer from the bench.

Injuries and poor performances are part of the game and you can't act as if they didn't happen.

As I’ve been telling everyone for weeks, Real have this game sorted.

I'm saying it was an anti-climax. Liverpool are a one-man team and all I wanted to see was how good Liverpool were when up against the reputed best side in the world. I could already have guessed without Salah they'd lose comfortably.

Well done Agent Karius.
Just watched the highlights.
fecking hell. That was even better than I had hoped.

Curry and the wank that I didn't have last weekend comig up.

You saw it already. Liverpool got one shot on goal while Salah was on the pitch (which had nothing to do with Salah since he was not involved in that phase of play whatsoever).

Salah was nothing special when he was playing, and it was arguably other players that were more dangerous (especially Mane).

@carvajal @giorno @Vato @gaucho_10 congratulations guys. Zizou, what a legend:drool:
Sweet relief!

Congratulations to @carvajal @giorno and @Vato

Zidane, friggin legend. 3 in row

Thank you guys, a very difficult game and a little deceptive. I think we were lucky. Salah's injury completely killed them. After that Mané tried it but showing heart and pressed very hard is not always enough. The team controlled the match very well under pressure, and those who had to vindicate themselves did so with goals

We’d had 9 attempts before the Salah injury. Salah being there forced Madrid back.

Wow that was beautiful. Couldn’t have gone any better as a Utd fan.

Liverpool showed tonight their lack of depth. If one of that front three isn’t there, it’s a body blow. Real can leave Bale on the bench and he can come on and win the game for them. The squad depth for both sides is ridiculous. One got a serious surplus and the other has a serious deficit
