It's still a pretty big achievement for Sociedad, isn't it?

Although it could explain why they haven't been able to replicate their performances against Lyon against other sides this season.

Valencia has had a seizure or something, he's completely forgot he is a winger. Smalling is doing his best, Evra & Kagawa is very strange, Rooney can't be blamed too much, that Giggs lad is pretty much invisible.
 
We have been shit. Playing the exact same as we have been all season. This Sociedad team are here for the taking, but United are playing their awful lackadaisical style of football. So static, no movement, no running in to massive spaces in front of them, no urgency whatsoever. They look like they don't want to be out there at all, want to just pass the ball about in defense and midfield for 90 minutes. When Rooney is showing up in the defensive midfield position you know we are creating absolutely nothing. Really annoyed. When is Moyes going to sort these players out?

Maybe we should move away from this default away performance then, and go for the jugular. Sociedad will push forward in the second, hopefully space for the front players to hit them on the break.

Sociedad are not the side they were in the second half of last season. They were playing some terrific, fearless football under Montanier, but they also had Illarimendi who was their playmaker supreme. They are a decent side but one we should be dominating. A win will pretty much ensure qualification... a draw and we need a win in the last 2 games. Leverkusen will be very tough in Germany, we don't want to be leaving it to the last game.
 
Someone tell United the second half has started please :)

I'm just pointing out that neither Giggs nor Fellaini should be singled out as it's our front play that's looking a bit sleepy overall.
 
I know it's not his natural position, but Kagawa really isn't flourishing out wide again tonight. Getting chances, but some of his passing and decisions are woeful.

Was going to say, Smalling is creating more down the wing than Valencia. What the hell has happened to that lad? I've completely given up. The other players aren't doing much better though.

Re: the whole Fellaini performance. It is his best in a United shirt, but it wouldn't be hard. He needs to get forward more, pass the ball quicker.
