Good to see you taking an interest Gillespie.

Any news on Vermaelen's injury ? Terrible, terrible news when I heard it. Possible broken leg I heard. Shocking, absolutely terrible news. Terrible.

I may be wrong, but you seem to be delighted with Vermaelen's injury.

Again, I can't help but feel your sadness is a little false. Poor form really.

Internet boards can be so misleading, I'm drowning in a sea of tears here, so gutted for the Arsenal fans out there. Terrible news, shocking.

What I would class as poor form is a gooner cnut checking in on a United board to rub it in over the frivolous suspension of one of our centre backs. Now that's poor form.

I agree with the second sentence, but it doesn't excuse the fact that you're clearly taking pleasure in the fact that a man has apparently broken his leg. It just seems a bit scouse to me.

Now now.......sarcasm lowest form of wit and all that

Interested in Rio's fate? Natch, as I had he would be banned for our game and as it happens I am not disappointed

As for Vermaelen, someone posted that his leg is not broken which if true is great news

I received some information from someone temporarily itk at Old Trafford saying Rio's back problem is still being managed by injections and it is still very much only a short term fix. I have no reason to doubt this person either :(

itk  ... well excuse me while I wait for something a little more concrete.

What a shocking response. It wasnt predictable at all. I'm well aware it's not "concrete" but well worth passing on anyway.

Need need need to get Rio fit. We've conceded 10 goals in 15 games with Rio, and 20 goals in 14 games without. Away from home, it's 5 goals in 7 games with, and 16 goals in 8 games without. We concede on average 0.66 goals a game with Rio and 1.42 without. Away, 0.71 goals with and 2 goals without. Incredible.

since Rio absence, we been leaking goals at will.

It's a shame that it's impossible to rely on him to stay fit for anyting more than 2 months at a stretch

If there was one player I wanted to play at Anfield today it was him. He's been one of our - if not the - best player whenever we play the scouse bastards for the past 4 years or so, bar the game with his back injury.

Rio's injuries are starting to be a big concern. It is no way to go on. I guess the only up-side is Smalling is getting the games he needs to develop and the lad does look like a player.

Not much we can do about it, can we? Just treat him best we can and yes, at least be pleased his absences would mean Smalling getting plenty of experience.

In the match day thread prior to the Wolves game I had Rio not starting so as not to risk injury and a few people mocked me in that even if he did, it would be a week before the Shitty game.

He had just come off a problem before that and was hoping Fergie would manage him like he had previously, not risking him before a big game - now wish he had. He's had a decent year staying healthy and at least his back issue is gone but, he does pick these injuries up where he misses several games, hope once he is back, no more of them rest of this season.

Is there any news when Rio will be back? I hope he makes the Marseille game.

I would have liked him in there today, he would have twatted Carragher

Defensive masterclass tonight. Saved us 3 times in the first 15 minutes.

We look a completely different team with him in the side.
