Pitying all you northerners doomed to a life of cu
I've been thinking for some time that the man child that is Rooney has peaked. The signs of decline are already there.Blessed with a powerful physique at 16 he dominated youth football and was more than a match for the senior flight....however,his physique has always been more that of a sprinter/boxer than a footballer. He was a freak for his age at 16.

He appears now to be musclebound with a tendency to pile on the pounds particularly as he gets older.

No surprise therefore that he tends to fade often disappearing in matches because he lacks stamina. As he gets older I predict he will continue to struggle both with his weight and fitness.

Make the most of him for what remains.......he will continue to disappoint as he declines

I SAW MY MATE, THE OTHER DAY,

HE SAID TO ME HE'D SEEN THE WHITE PELE",
I ASKED HIM WHO, WHO'VE YEH SEEN?
HE SAID HE GOES BY THE NAME OF WAYNE ROONEY,
WAYNE ROONEY, WAYNE ROONEY!
HE GOES BY THE NAME OF WAYNE ROONEY!

It's possible, I suppose. This was always the fear, when we signed him - that he'd be a bit like Fowler - amazing at a young age, but not enough of a natural athlete to improve or stop the decline.

At the moment, though, it looks like wishful thinking. He's being kept in excellent shape, and despite not being in form, is still one of the best players in the premiership. He'll be back soon to make you eat your words.

People were always going to jump on his back when he went through a bad spell, it's the nature of the British game. He'll be back to form sooner rather than later and it'll be us and Rooney who have the last laugh I believe.

Over-rated, fat, can't score, poor touch.

Waste of money.

He has been out of sorts recently, not sure if he needs a rest or just to keep on playing till it clicks again...he always looks to be battling, nothing ever comes easy to him...

That having been said even off form he is the highest point scoring strker in the telegraphs fantasy football...not a wholy reliable statisitic but indicative all the same.

I've been thinking for some time that the man child that is HENRY has peaked. The signs of decline are already there.Blessed with a powerful physique & eye for goal, that only RVN has eclipsed in the Premiership ....however,his maturIty level has always been more that of a child than a footballer. He whas & still suffers from w:wenger:ger vision

He appears now to be more sulky, with a tendency to complain more as he gets older, especially when tackled by a defender(funny that)

No surprise therefore that he tends to fade often disappearing in matches because he has never really cut against the biggest clubs consitently. Make the most of him for what remains.......he will be off to Barcelona next season

So, Rooney cant possibly have a bad run of form at all in his career? You think he is on the decline, I suggest you better think again. When he gets his form back, and he will, you will be eating your words.

I'm amazed at what kind of rubbish some people in here can actually sprout. Only those who had not seen Rooney when he was on form would claim such nonsense.

Its like after a series of quiet perfomance from Fabregas, people saying that he has reached his peak and can no longer develop physically. He will always remain a skinny midget and will cease to be an effective player as premiership opposition continue to chop him down. At least we have the grace and are objective enough to recognise the fact that Fabregas is indeed a great young talent and will probably go on to become one of the best central midfielders in the world.

Rooney is only 21 and his abilities had been witnessed by the world. Its very rare for young players to sustain a long period of wonderful displays and people need to be realistic here. I will not be surprised if the same pile of rubbish is dished out by others if Ronaldo went off the boil for 3-4 games in the future.

Its highly possible that opposition fans are just plain jealous with the fact that we have 2 or the world's best young players whom will more likely fulfill their potential than not in the future.

hes not in decline or any of this other bollocks - hes got new levels to reach yet, one of them being consistency throughout a whole season, which neither him or ronaldo have achieved as of yet!

hes going through a bad run of form and he has lost his spark, once that is back all will be well, form is temporary...you know the rest ;)

Spot on. Of course if it is Ronaldo the brickbats will be worse.

Gillespie's back from one of his business trips then. Funnily this always coincides with Arsenal having a god run of form.

True. They're on an unbeaten run of 1 game. Basically invincible.

Rooney's top class

He's not having a great season, to deny his class is daft mind....superb player

You can believe what you want Gillespie, but I suggest you start writing an apology because we will be sure to remember this thread in 15 years when Rooney retiers and you will be left here looking like a tit. This Wayne Rooney is a prodegy and he's playing for manchester united, scoring 3 goals in his first game for us. If you think Wayne Rooney is a player that's been this good at a young age just because of his muscles... He's the best forward in the country and he's been so for the past 3 years. Now you say he's just going to be fat? Whoever said something about Robbie Fowler - he's a scouser and an AA case. Can't even compare it.

He was absolutely excellent at one point though. By 24 or 25 he was just gone.......

Of course he was good, and correct me if i'm wrong when I say he's among the top 5 in all time goal scorers in the permier league. I'm not sure about goals and numbers now, but he's got a bag full of 'em. Anyway I think he faded away because of his attitude towards the game, not because he just became bad.

Questioning Rooneys stamina is the same as questioning Henry's pace
