Russia's at it again

Irrelevant. At the end of the day Bolton works for Trump.

And Trump is incredibly susceptible to persuasion by all accounts. He's previously been described as following whatever policy the last person who talked to him recommended.

Seriously, at this point I almost hope Trump IS in Putin's pocket, because if the Bolton crew get their way the world is going to become a very dangerous place.

Listen, Russia had a empire and colonies. Ever heard of Peter the Great? Jesus Christ, give me strength...

He isn't at all..in fact the only people with any legitimate sway over him are his daughter and to a lesser degree Kushner and his sons. He plays everyone else off one another to see whose ideas he prefers - and Bolton wouldn't have any more influence than McMaster, Kelly, Mattis, or Tillerson have had.

As for hoping Trump is in Putin's pocket, that's a great recipe to have Putin continue doing this sort of thing. At some point you have to come to terms with the reality that Putin only understands the language of power and strength. You have to hit him where it hurts otherwise you will be doomed to have this sort of thing repeat over and over again.

That’s not what dozens of people who worked with him previously said. The Fire & Fury book laid it out very clearly, he’s incredibly susceptible to persuasion as long as you flatter him and make it sound like his idea. Look at the way he went from anti-China on the campaign to suddenly Xi’s best buddy for the best part of a year.

I actually don’t disagree, but it has to be handled by serious professionals who understand the boundaries and consequences. Bolton managed to look like a raving warmongering lunatic in an administration that included Dick Cheney and Donald fecking Rumsfeld.

Given how Wolf's credibility has been subsequently obliterated for making things up, I wouldn't exactly hold the Fire and Fury book as a credible source information on Trump.

Bolton is obviously an obnoxiously bellicose character, but given Trump's complete sissy-like cowardice in dealing with Putin, Bolton's approach along with Haley at the UN, will provide a bit of balance.

Fantastic news.

Conspiracy theorists now out in force on twitter.
Yeah, I’ve noticed them (one or two in particular).

Over a week ago reports said that she wasn’t communicating in “any meaningful way” which did indicate that she was coming round, albeit gradually. These conspiracy twitterers don’t seem to be well up on what has actually been going on over the last month, which does suggest an element of “bot” activity.

They betrayed Putin and work for Christopher Steele. That's why all those are on the hit list?

That's probably part of it but Steele has a reputation for being on the wrong side of things particularly when it comes to interferences.

Hard for them to say no though, she’s a Russian citizen isn’t she? Perhaps they could offer her asylum.

Why would she return to Russia after they just attempted to murder her and her father.

Even if she doesn't, she would probably be a refugee at this point since her government just attempted to assassinate her.

She's a Putin critic. Doubt she would want to go back to Russia or even see any delegation from Russia.

Indeed. I’m just not sure what the laws are on other nations citizens. I’m assuming they’ll have to give her political asylum.
