I'm due to go milan on may 16 for 3 nights. I haven't booked accommodation yet. Shall I book it now before all the rebooked folk increase demand?
Does anyone know how many cases in india or Pakistan yet? Im pretty sure when it hits those densly populated areas we will see a global surge in numbers.
I don't mean to be a downer, but I think it's very likely you won't be going to Italy in the next 3 months.I'm due to go milan on may 16 for 3 nights. I haven't booked accommodation yet. Shall I book it now before all the rebooked folk increase demand?

I'm hoping things settle by then. The flights were only 60 quid return. I'm sceptical about booking accommodation atm. Not sure what to do.I don't mean to be a downer, but I think it's very likely you won't be going to Italy in the next 3 months.
As somebody who works in the NHS I can confirm that this is going to be a shit show.
Book something with free cancellation until a week up front or something like that. Can't do anything wrong in that case, just cancel freely if it's clear that you won't be going.I'm hoping things settle by then. The flights were only 60 quid return. Yeah we have how many wards set aside here? Just in the Mater?
Out of interest how many free respirators would NI have daily? Obviously wont be quoting you.
Trump has a natural ability for this. They'll be fine.In contrast, wtf are USA doing?![]()

For all the moaning about the British government seems its relatively under control as far as it can be they might actually know what their doing.
More fun to moan about their incompetence though.
How are rugby clubs in such a bad financial situation? Do they pay massive wages?
Except for the fact that it keeps growing everyday. I don't see how this doesn't follow the Italian trend. The rate of infections per tests in also narrowing - shows we aren't testing nearly enough given that its estimated that this virus as transmission rate of 1:3. Given that we already have almost 400 cases, is it implausible to assume we may already have 1200?
No idea on the respirators but I know that the Royal have said they have no more capacity to take COVID patients so all are now going to the Mater - no idea how many beds they have but honestly I doubt it's all that many because there are rarely any beds (or beds but not enough nurses to work them) as it is without all this.
I sit in on beds meetings each week and the pressure to get people moved home is enormous - that was before this because of the normal winter pressures. We don't have enough capacity to keep people in wards for longer than absolutely necessary so I honestly have no clue how they are going to manage when this properly kicks off.
They know its growing though and they are waiting to push the button, its no surprise to them they are doing exactly what they said it will spread but it will be in a more controlled fashion we have accepted this is not gonna be stamped out completely its basically by the book.
I'm dreading listening to Nolan TBH, we will stick our heads in the sand and pretend were ok.
The gate is much more important to rugby clubs, tv revenue although increased with the super league is nothing like football tv revenueHow are rugby clubs in such a bad financial situation? Do they pay massive wages?
Any one looked into this?
Off work today with a bad chest after having a fever and aches yesterday. I’m asthmatic. 2 other colleagues have also not turned in today, we work in Liverpool and live just outside.
Looks like none of us have any intention of getting tested, wouldn’t even know where to start, just lying in bed drinking lemsips and reading this thread.![]()

Pretty sketchy. An Imgur link with what appears to be a photograph of something written on paper with an overlay of somebody commenting on it presumably during a YouTube video.

They will need to reopen most of the city hospital which isn't being used. Of course, it would probably cost a few million just to clean the unused corridors. No idea on the respirators but I know that the Royal have said they have no more capacity to take COVID patients so all are now going to the Mater - no idea how many beds they have but honestly I doubt it's all that many because there are rarely any beds (or beds but not enough nurses to work them) as it is without all this.

I know this is of no help, but here in Spain, if you call the equivalent of the not 999 number in the UK and have symptoms, they send you a home test kit.
What's the score with people in Italy who don't live there? Are they stuck for a month or are they allowed a window to leave?Book refundable rooms.
The Italians up until a couple of days ago weren't really taking things seriously. Nobody was paying any attention to advice and plenty were still travelling around like normal, some were even sneaking out of red zones to go on holiday. Now people are getting genuinely worried. It took a couple of days to get going but now everything is closed and the streets are deserted. I think/hope in a week or so we will start to see the cases drop. The measures taken are as strong as anywhere in the world, the government has effectively closed the whole country for an entire month. If they don't work, there is nothing that will be tolerable to Western countries that will.
