Surely not? Where did you hear that?
While we're all here - don't forget to vote for the RedCafe awards! The voting threads are here:
Part 1
Part 2
The voting template is at the start of each thread - but you don't need to vote in every category. If you don't want to spend much time on this, just vote for the ones you can think of right away and leave it at that. We'd basically just to love to get more votes and get results that are a bit more representative of the entire forum.
Thanks!
Crap, fell for that one again!Remember : Please do not post unsubstantiated conspiracies in this thread

BRITS will not be told to return to shielding, Chris Whitty confirmed tonight - but urged all vulnerable to get three jabs AND a booster.
The Chief Medical Officer updated vulnerable people tonight, but told them they should not return to staying inside at the moment, despite the huge spread of omicron.
He appeared alongside Boris Johnson at a press conference this evening, where the pair urged everyone to come forward and get boosted now to have the best chance of fighting the new mutant variant, which is spreading like wildfire.
Professor Whitty told the nation tonight: "shielding came with some very serious downsides for the people involved - including loneliness and mental health issues, practical problems.
"So it's not an area we want to go down if there's any way of avoiding doing so.
"But there is a lot of things we need to be doing for the clinical vulnerable and they include for people who are immunosuppressed.
"Hopefully, most people who are in that situation know that they should get three doses of vaccine as their primary course.
"And then subsequently, they should get a booster on top of that.
"So they should have four doses in comparison to the rest of the population.
"And then we'll be wanting to look at in terms of antiviral drugs, and how we best can use them in this group of people who are particularly high risk."
It's likely to be a policy for the immune suppressed and clinically extremely vulnerable - broadly the group they're describing as getting "dose 3" rather than a booster.Surely not? Where did you hear that?
Who is Professor Whitty, similar to our Dr. Fauci?
Got no idea who that is. But he's similar to Theresa Tam in Canada or Fontanet in France.Who is Professor Whitty, similar to our Dr. Fauci?
Kinda similar. Thanks.Got no idea who that is. But he's similar to Theresa Tam in Canada.
Just to post again from BBC news re 4 jabs comment from Whitty
Prof Whitty, answering a question about shielding, says the government doesn't want to make the most vulnerable people do this again - unless it's absolutely necessary.
He reminds them they should get four doses - rather than three - of a coronavirus vaccine, wherever possible.
"Professor Chris Whitty is Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for England, the UK government's Chief Medical Adviser and head of the public health profession."Who is Professor Whitty, similar to our Dr. Fauci?
I wouldn’t say ignoring it… Lockdown requires consent from the majority of the population to work, unless if you want to go all brutal and military. So most likely scenario is that you have all the scientist presenting data that makes people come to the conclusion that lockdown is the solution, the man in charge saying that won’t happen..It wouldn't surprise me if Boris is ignoring all the advice so that he can say I gave you all a Christmas as promised, then in early January, he will lockdown.
He has been adamant that he won't lockdown over this Christmas. But at what cost?
Almost every single person with severe enough Covid requiring level 2/3 care (HDU/ICU) in my hospital at the moment are unvaccinated. Almost exclusively those who are dying from it are unvaccinated. The ones who do have it and are vaccinated are usually either incredibly unlucky (ie they're immunosuppressed due to other factors) or are in for other reasons but happen to be covid positive.
All of the above presents issues with cohorting patients, which in turn will have an impact on decision making for escalating patients care (or not being able to provide that care for some), hospital resources and to be totally frank, staff burnout, morale and fatigue.
I'm nowhere near as aggressive as some on here regarding the unvaccinated. I happen to think in the UK at least and across much of Europe we have an incredibly high vaccine uptake and see that as a cause to be celebrated, rather than something to head bang about for the last 10-15%. Humans are not homogenous and we never have been. To expect pretty much 100% uptake on anything is incredibly unlikely. Nor am I particularly keen to enact some of the draconian measures some seem so keen on for the unvaxxed. I'd say most who are unvaxxed now do not fall into the anti-vaxxer nutter territory and trying to exclude them totally from society is probably not the way to go.
However, it is an unfortunate fact that this tiny proportion of unvaccinated take up a hugely disproportionate amount of hospital resources at present and affect others' care. Patience is wearing thin.
Could it be this?Had my Moderna booster yesterday and have woken up with a dull but uncomfortable pain in the left hand side of my chest, just under my left nipple. Gets worse when I breath in. Could have just slept funny I guess but my minds racing.
Here in Australia 90% of Victorians are vaccinated and 91% of those admitted to ICU weren't (88% hadn't even had 1 shot).

Kind of like putting vegetables with the sweets and telling children not to eat the vegetables
Surely Victorian's died long ago no?
Other states sometimes wished it were so but sadly not
I was referring more to Victorian's (from Victorian age) rather than Aussie Victorians.
Hopefully, deaths for you are limited.
It’s really no different to the 3 previous national lockdowns.Well, he is running out of ways of having a lockdown.
He says he doesn't want a pingdemic, which would force people to stay home, he has scrapped the 10 day isolation and he say's there won't be a lockdown, so i'm not sure what in theory he is trying to do, because i'm sure that the scientists' will want a lockdown and it will be necessary, unless, they believe herd immunity is now okay, as they have vaccines to reduce deaths, but not illness.
His jobIt wouldn't surprise me if Boris is ignoring all the advice so that he can say I gave you all a Christmas as promised, then in early January, he will lockdown.
He has been adamant that he won't lockdown over this Christmas. But at what cost?
It’s really no different to the 3 previous national lockdowns.
2 weeks before lockdown 1 he said there was a 0% chance of a lockdown in this country, that’s actually when I thought ok we’re gonna have a lockdown.
Same with the one in November, came after weeks of Boris, apparently, not wanting a lockdown and ignoring the data, and similar with the early Jan lockdown.
The first one you could say ok he didn’t want it but then had a change of mind, either incompetence or at first thought more people would voluntarily lockdown.
But once it becomes a pattern you realise it’s a strategy. Also all lockdowns get announced after something along the lines of #lockdownUKnow trends massively on Twitter.
The first one in March 2020 there was warm sunny weather, and lots of people went to beaches/parks etc was all over the news. Twitter went wild that weekend. Then on the Monday he made the “you must stay at home except for “ announcement.
Don’t know mate, somethings giving me jip that’s for sure. I just thought I’d slept funny but when I started getting a bit tight chested and wheezy was when I started getting a bit concerned.
Must have slept through that lecture. I’ve been telling friends/family that random pleuritic pain is caused by cramp in the intercostal muscles. Just as well none of them listen to me any more.
Absolutely, although Johnson is going to die on the sword of Christmas this year and slay it. I currently have friends whom I thought sensible that are spouting this “it’s mild disease” rubbish from SA as a reason just to carry on and let it run riot. It seems they don’t have the logic to comprehend that if it really is as transmissible as it seems, then it doesn’t matter if it’s 4x less deadly because hospitals will still get overrun and public services will have to shut down because of the amount of isolations. Then people can’t get to work anyway.I would be amazed if there aren't further restrictions put in place before christmas.

Kary Mullis died in 2019. How are anti-vaxxers trying to use him ?
