Just asked someone who works in Investor relations in my company which is also on the NYSE if he heard any rumours on this and he said nothing at all
He has not heard any rumors which means this is a done deal!

See the post above answering someone else on this, basically if he sold for 2 billion, he’d profit to the tune of approx 1.2 billion. But he’s said he sets the price at 2.5 billion so he’d make even more if found a willing buyer.
And he is making a ton of money from it, the club is an asset that is appreciating at a massive rate, so it is making money right now. They even turned a 60 million odd profit in the last financial year.

Yeah, suppose they should've denied it by now, that could still be coming.
A company wouldn't wait until 5 mins before market opens for trading to announce this. You'd announce it 8 AM or earlier. M&A announcements are also often made over the weekend.
