They did know and then they voted the man responsible prime minister
Hi Mozza - nice to hear from you again.
They did know and then they voted the man responsible prime minister
Israelis are good and Palestinians are bad
Now, will you be leaving it at that, or is there more bullshit to come?
For all you anti-Israel posters, what should have been Israel's right response to Hamas' one sided breaking of the cease-fire?

Renegotiate the ceasefire, it happened once 6 months previously

Renegotiate? With Hamas?!
Renegotiate? With Hamas?!
No - Hamas are becoming very extinct at the moment
...The cabinet was also told that Israel had knocked out an estimated 50 percent of Hamas's underground rocket launching capacity on Saturday, but that the organization still retained a significant arsenal of short-and long-range missiles.
...Ashkenazi said that most of the Palestinians' 230-250 casualties on Saturday were uniformed, armed Hamas personnel.
Yes, just like the did for the previous 6 month period
No - Hamas are becoming very extinct at the moment
Like you did to Hezbollah in Lebanon?
They were thinking they hadn't seen much change for the people of Gaza despite the ceasefire, the blockade continued, the slow starvation of 1.5 million people continuedWell we've just witnessed how much Hamas really cares about negotiated agreements. What on earth were they thinking in the first place when they started firing rockets again? What did they expect?!
Is not Hamas the elected representative of the Palestinians?

Absolute rubbishBollox. They want to destroy Israel. The suffering of the Palestinians is Hamas's goal.
Only in Gaza. The West bank is run by their enemy Fatah.

now that does not make any sense whatsoever....

That might be true. Of course, if you ever succeeded in actually destroying most of Hamas, all the collateral damage that resulted from it would no doubt grow yet another generation of Palestinians who have reason to hate Israel.
I don't really think you can destroy Hamas, but if you somehow did it, another similar organization would just pop up. Just take a look at what the US "war on Terror" has accomplished: feck all.

Is the Egypt-Gaza borderline still controlled by Israel?
Those justifying attacks because Israel is defending it's people should remember this conflict did not start with rockets fired into Israel. The history behind this is way too deep.
It's getting to the stage now, many years on from the start of the conflict, that there are not that many people alive who were around at the beginning. But of course people on both sides are brought up with the explicit aim of continuing the conflict. It's maybe a small point, but someone born now cannot claim to have been personally wronged by something that happened fifty years ago. They didn't exist back then.
Eventually there has to become a point when historical wrongs gradually become less significant than the present situation. Do you agree with this? I can see it is possible to argue that history shouldn't be diminished.
this may have been brought up before...how did they resolve in some fashion the Northern Irish problem....
could that be used as a case study to see how we can apply the lessons learned there to this conflict?

Israel's population and economy are too small to allow them to suffer mass casualties. therefore they fight the only way they can (from afar). Plus public perception is everything in israel and they have maintained a very healthy retal policy to keep there regional enemies in check.
Like the terrorists it's no big deal killing defenceless hungry people.
