That set the trend in away games for that season and we blew it from then on in.

As for now, shit we are playing well and frankly I expect us to get two so wether we can keep them out is what it's all about for me and hopefully Almunia will be up to the task.

Wasn't that Heskey equaliser the result of a corner that wasn't, or am I thing about something else?

Anyway, the way Carragher's been playing of late, and what with Hyppia looking like he's somehow found a way to get even slower, I'd be very disappointed if we failed to score.

Agreed it probably comes down to whether we can keep them out or not. I'm still not convinced with Almunia, but great that Gallas is finally back.

All signs look good at the moment, but some of our worst performances in recent times have been at Anfield.
 
As much as it pain me to say this, I want a scouser win tomorrow for us to stay top.

I hope Arsenal cnut them 39-0 or something. But the Arse usually bottle games at Anfield - a bit of piped music over the tannoy before kick off and they go to pieces like Chelsea. Still, fingers crossed.
 
The good thing about this fixture, a week before our game with the Arse, is that Benitez for all his faults, usually works out a way to play good teams (even if they don't always win). He should at least give us a hint on what to do with Arsenal's so called "Dynamic" midfield other than the obvious and lug the shit out of them.
 
I want an entertaining match, with loads of red cards and prefarbly a picture of gerrard crying in front of the kop when he smashes in an amazing volley to give arsenal the game in the 90th minute. And then an arsenal own goal, to level the game so were not too far behind them. That would do me fine.
 
I'd prefer Arsenal to lose points. I rate our title chances higher than my hatred of liverpool, and I know a draw or even a win against arse won't turn liverpool's season around... Benitez will see to that with his rotation policy.
 
Be interesting to see what Benitez picks as Crouch gave us an awful lot of trouble in the air at the end of last season although frankly there was little to play for in terms of the title. I'd be much more worried about Torres - quality player

I think we can give them lots of trouble and I have a feeling that Walcott is gonna figure somewhere in it, maybe as an early sub. Can see his pace giving them a ton of shit centrally and wide.

I remember people saying a similar thing when the dippers played Chelsea in that CL Semi FInal a few years back. feck Liverpool. Come on Arsenal.

Crouch gave Toure and Gallas a torrid time in the 4-1 match. He is a better player than Kuyt and Voronin and I think he'd work quite well with Torres.

I'd agree with that. I would'nt be suprised if he started today. Although he may well be used as an impact sub.
Kuyt and Voronin have been poor in the last two games.

The problem with Rafa is that he tried to use Crouch as an impact sub against Besiktas, but only gave him about 10 minutes. You need to make those sort of substitutions on about 60/65 mins.

Fact is, there is no justification for keeping Voronin in the team. Kuyt's two Derby penalties mask the fact that he is a bit crap as well.

To be fair Kuyt's work rate makes him a much more valuable member of the Liverpool side than Voronin. Who just seems absolute shite.

I agree with that. The one thing that struck me about Kuyt when I saw him live was his exceptional work rate.

I think though that Crouch offers superior quality and when he gets a run in the team, a greater goal threat.
