Scum v Soup Chuckers (Oct 28th)

Decent game

Arsenal played them off the park football wise, and would have won easily had they not kept taking time outs in order to act like queens...what's new?

It could happen, but I wouldn't back us to beat Arsenal next week. Wouldn't back anyone to turn them over at the Emirates, just like I wouldn't back anyone to turn United over at OT. Draw would set us up nicely I reckon.

Liverpool arn't very good

You know we played well when Noodle is giving us credit ;)

Thought we did really well today, our passing was brilliant and despite the mighty Liverpool being at home their whole game was based around shutting us down. Apart from the first 10 mins in the first half and the first 20 mins in the 2nd half they weren't even close to us. It says a lot about Fabregas when they had Mascherano and Alonso both zonally marking him. Due to that he was a bit quiet today but still made a huge impact in the game. Two of their strikers probably spent more time as defenders in their own half then they did in our half. Thought Hleb was marvellous today, real classy performance from him. Rosicky, Eboue and especially Adebayor had real off days, Adebayor has hit a bit of a rough patch but he will come through hopefully sooner rather than later.

We dominated overall and Liverpool were very fortunate to come away with a point imo. Hit the post twice, twice missed open goals, Carragher lucky to not give a penalty away and possibly should of been sent off in the first half as well. I thought we were gonna take a pasting and people questioned when we come up north we fold but we did no such thing against Liverpool. Not many will come to Anfield and have over 60% ball possession (63% according to Sky and 66% bbc) and dominate them like we did.

Calm down Smurph

Marching...do you not see the winding up or the other idiots on here? Why have a go at Murph?

I'm the one who said Alonso was the best passer on the pitch, yet some schoolkid credits Murph with that statement. Just the fact this schoolkid hasn't finished/started reading lessons should be excuse enough for Murph to show some angst.

Yeah, we were really smashed by all that sideways passing, fecking hell, we've never taken such a beating.

So 2 points dropped by Arsene Wenger if we 'took such a battering'. Why was HE so happy/satisfied in the post match interview then?

If I was him I'd be having a go at the ref, the linesman, the poor finishing, etc.

(ps. I'm taking this comment at face value, apologies if its sarcasm aimed at others  )

He is trying to be sarcastic, don't worry mate you won't understand, like most of the Liverpool fans here you spend most of your time talking about Liverpool. His comments are mainly one liners meant for all his Man utd buddies on this forums (well mainly the general chat forum), he spends more times being bum chums with them then being a Liverpool fan.

Possession:

63.2% to 36.8%

Am I supposed to be impressed by some pussy assed percentage, United went to Anfield and won last your which is more than your lot did today. Bring on the match, v Arsenal I am interesting to see how it goes without Scholes hopefully Anderson can cope, and thank god Hargo is fit he will be quite useful in this match

The game was ok, Arsenal wasted some good chances and Liverpool took their only real chance

The Equaliser was very stupid...

Points dropped by both sides and thats fine...

We are top of the league with the Arse cnuts...

one things for sure after todays game

Arsenal are definitely a bigger threat to our crown than Liverpool

I think deep down Liverpool fans realise this as well

Two weeks in a row Liverpool escapes a clear red card and a penalty. To be fair had Carragher been rightly sent off, he would not be around to concede that penalty, but still.

4 points when they probably should have had none. Lucky lucky scousers. Again.

Considering the post wasn't aimed at you, no.

And last year we beat your lot. Twice. No point in bringing up the old 'oh yeah, well my cock is bigger then yours' routine.

Benitez managed his team poorly. He played 3 strikers, of whom Torres was unfit, and Kuyt and Voronin were average and offered no width or flair. Gerrard was good but Alonso and Mascherano played too deep, which gave Arsenal control of the midfield and isolated Gerrard who was further forward. As a result the team was hoofing and giving up possession. Alonso wasn't fit either, and now Rafa's lost both him and Torres for more time. Crouch was an improvement over Torres, who should never have played. A bad day at the office for Rafa.

We hear a lot from certain posters how Gerrard, Alonso, Mascherano is a great midfield, but they were badly outplayed yesterday. Perhaps they're only a strong comination on paper and don't really work against good opposition.

Having said all that, Liverpool came within ten minutes of winning because Arsenal were not very good at turning possession into scoring opportunities. I thought Gerrard, Crouch and Carragher played well.

All that Cola sends you hyper Murph. ;)

I saw Sicknote Kewell play for the reserves the other night.....how do you see his future?

Well very dissapointed at that, should have been 3 pts in the bag make no mistake. We were well worth it

Still you cant win every single game

Thought we were dominant without the final tap in. Under tough pressure we all but came up with the goods and Fabregas say what you will can as easily play non beautifully but still be a massive impact signs there of a great great player.

Gerrard did well has to be said and without his contribution we'd have hammered them imo

Personally I'd have brought Walcott on at the start of the 2nd half or even started with him - his pace would have been too much for both central Pool defenders

On to the next one

He's such a good player Marching, you know that. People wrote Scholes off and Solksjaer, and it's all a big 'If he can stay fit' but a fit Kewell is a valuable commodity.

As for last night, 'pleasantly pissed' was how I was, whilst there some unadulterated crap being posted on here last night
(I see Sky's MOM Carragher not only 'played like a chicken' but this morning got 9/10 in The Mail )
I shouldn't have reacted with the effing and blinding and all that.

Oh well, until next time eh? :D

Does Kewell exist?

Actually, have anyone seen Kewell and Liam Miller in the same room? Are they the same person? Or are they both myths?

Smurfy, if you are pinning your hopes to Kewell, you might as well give up now.

People who wrote Scholes off were obviously idiots, as they didn't have a clue what his condition was - he certainly never had a serious long-term injury like Kewell.

Solskjær never returned the same player as he was.

One thing is clear from that game. Liverpool won't be challanging. Their football is from the dark ages.

Both Scholes and OGS beat HK hands down with their desire to play....the trouble with HK is that the fans only ever see his talent when it suits him. His head goes down at the drop of a hat and he drifts in and mostly out of games more than most....as a fan all I ask is that players give their all for 90 mins....Kewell is not one of those players.

El Tubbys reaction a while back to his 'injuries' said it all.

There's no deep down about it. I, for one, openly admit that Arsenal will finish higher than Liverpool this season.

Hopefully, Arsenal will end up top in May because I can't bear to see Man Utd or chelski win it.

(for those taking the day off school today - yes I know I've predicted ourselves to finish 4th here)

The L'Arse-Scouse love-in reignited...

The title will be between United & Chelsea, whether you like it or not.

Is that what you expected in August, or has the season been a big disappointment for you so far?

I expect us to win the league EVERY August. But I'm also long in the tooth enough to realise that I need to book a two week foreign break in Oct/Nov to get over us being out of the running by then.

Surprisingly enough, you are not out of it yet.
He seems as quick to write them off as he is to proclaim them champions-elect.

Liverpool do still have a shot at the title, as do Chelsea. Just that Arsenal and United are looking more likely right now, but things can change quickly.

Surprisingly enough, you are not out of it yet.

This might be the first time we have a decent number of points, but our key players out. Usually, its been the other way round.

Our main rivals have hit top form and are raking in the points and goal difference. By the time we hit that sort of form (and we will) the other 3 will be out of sight.

Bollox to that.

Gerrard is playing, isn't he. He is your KEY player.

You have no more injuries than us.

Proof where I proclaimed this please.
You were the guy who posted the league table after four games weren't you? What was the point of that, if not to gloat at your spectacular start to the season?

I live in London, been supporting Liverpool since 1980 (glory hunter) and have supported them through the good times and bad. I've been to a handful of prem games when I could make it and am always on the lookout for tickets because getting access to season tickets is a f*cking nightmare.

Now put your self important cock away because we don't want to see it in these forums you muppet. Thank God schools are opening tomorrow.

Who is this 'we'?

Most of us like ralphie, who has been supporting United basically all of his life.

You seem to have a real obsession with calling people schoolkids. Ironic, really.

You're really a bit pathetic in your obsession with Spammy not acting like an 'It's ON!' spastic, aren't you?

You can't even tell when he's taking the piss.

I guess you'd prefer it if he was just another illiterate making up the numbers with the occasional insightful reply of "18-5".

Blimey, this place really is turning into a nunnery. Is humour no longer allowed online? I KNOW it was only October and I was probably going to get slated for making that thread. But that's what banter is all about.

You and Jason need more fibre in your diet.

Should have known. Ralphie, I apologise...please keep your cock out for Jason.
