Scunthorpe United vs. Manchester United

Most likely younger players to feature (probably on the bench) - Eikrem and Evans with the outside chance of Will Keane. De Laet should also be involved.

I think Ferdinand might play if he recovers from his illness as he needs the game time.

Neville will be in contention here too.

Starting XI: ------------------ PIG -----------------------------
- Neville --------- Brown ---------------- Smalling --------- Fabio
Hernandez ------- Gibson --------------- Anderson ------ Obertan
------------------ Owen ---------------- Macheda --------------

Bench: Amos, Rafael, De Laet, C.Evans, Eikrem, Bebe, W.Keane

Our reserve squad to play Bury tonight:

United squad: Sam Johnstone, Marnick Vermijl, Oliver Gill, Corry Evans, Scott Wootton, Reece Brown, Cameron Stewart, Ravel Morrison, Nicholas Ajose, Magnus Eikrem, Robert Brady, Michael Keane, Conor Devlin, Ezekiel Fryers, Ryan Tunnicliffe, John Cofie

And shamefully stolen from Rowem and Datura, the following players should be involved in the Carling Cup:

So it's Obertan, Bebe and De Laet to be involved in the CC. Anyone else I'm missing?

Will Keane.

Just realised, its a good job we don't have the word 'cnut' censored on here because the title would be very messy.

Big game for Bebe, Ando, Obertan and Rafael

I don't think it's that big a game for Bebe. Of course the Daily Mail will have a field day if he has a shocker but he has plenty of time on his side and will still be adapting.

I'd like to see

------------- PIG ---------------
RAFAEL BROWN SMALLING FABIO
BEBE ANDERSON GIBSON OBERTAN
------OWEN ------- MACHEDA-----

Anyone think SAF may give AMOS a start, with PIG on the bench?

Hope for that anyway, I don't think SAF will start Owen and Hernandez together as they both play off the last man, maybe see hernandez come on as a sub for Owen, with about 20 minutes to go?

Kuszczak will start.

Brown or Neville will captain, though if either has to go off, who'd be next?

Park? Kuszczak? .... Owen?

Out of those three, Park should get it. For a game like this though, it doesn't really matter.

TK
Rafael, Smalling, Brown, Fabio
Obertan, Gibson, Anderson, Park
Owen, Macheda

Bench: Amos, Neville, O'Shea, Chicha, Rooney, Nani, Fletcher.

Only leaving Rio out in assuming not well enough to play. If he is then will start.

-------------------------Kuzczak-----------------------

--G.Neville--------Smalling-----Ferdinand-------Fabio--

--Obertan-----------Gibson------Anderson-------Park----

---------------------Owen-------Macheda----------------

Subs: Amos, W.Brown, Rafael, Hernandez, DeLaet, Eikrem, Joshua King
Prediction:1-2 win. Macheda, Gibson

Park has had the armband before, but with Valencia injured he might be saved from this game.

I hope not. He looked like he was desperately short of minutes against Rangers.

On loan at Preston

I think this is the one trophy we got a realistic chance of winning so my team would be:

-----------------------VDS-------------------------

Rafa--------------Rio-----------Vida----------Evra

Nani-------------Fletch--------Scholes--------Giggs

--Rooney (another chance to prove me wrong)- Berbaking

Lets have Bebe and Obertan on the bench and come on to get some experience if we are cruising.

Love United Hate Magnus he he

Spotted :smirk:

There's a few players that I expect to start because they need the minutes.

Kuszczak, Neville, Brown, Da Silvas, Smalling, Gibson, Park, Anderson, Obertan and Owen. Therefor I expect we'll line up something like:

Kuszczak
Rafael Smalling Brown Fabio
Park Gibson Anderson Obertan
Neville Owen

Dunno how to fit Neville in.

I actually fancy it to be one of those nights. I wouldnt be surprised to see us go out.

Fixed.

Man United fans given Scunthorpe match shirt warning

Man United fans attending Wednesday's Carling Cup match at Scunthorpe United have been warned not to wear team shirts in the stadium's home areas.

Humberside Police believe some Man United fans living in Scunthorpe may have bought tickets for the home ends.

They said anyone seen wearing a Man United shirt in the Scunthorpe United section of Glanford Park would be escorted from the ground.

Tickets for the Carling Cup clash have sold out.

I think Rio will play alongside either Smalling or Brown. He needs match fitness and this is a good game for him to get some because there won't be any pressure on him.

Well, Owen's Garunteed a spot so its either Macheda/Hernandez with Macheda being more different than Owen more liklier to start.

Bebe is a 50/50 but from what I concluded from the reserve match, he has every chance as does Obertan to make it as both were on the same level from just one game though... Obertan should get the nod being here for much longer and I'm sure SAF doesn't want to throw Bebe' to the journalist to produce that shite again just for the sake of writing another Bebe' has a poor touch stuff...

With Valencia injured, Park surely needs a game so might as well let Park get a few minutes... But I"m sure we all want to see at least a bit of Bebe'

Rafael, not banned if he doesn't get a game I'd be totally upset... Fabio aswell...

Smalling is a certain and I won't be surprised if Wes/Rio gets one...

MF will possibly be another Gibson... and Ando ??? Just maybe... But how would I love to see Eikrem start pushing up.

Well, it'll certainly be a good game but I hope we throw as many youngsters in as we can

From a muppet's point of view

Something like:

------------------Amos-----------------
Neville-------Brown-----Smalling----Fabio
Rafael-----Gibson----Anderson----Obertan
-------------Macheda--Owen-------------

I think Rio will play alongside either Smalling or Brown. He needs match fitness and this is a good game for him to get some because there won't be any pressure on him.

If that's the case it will probably be Brown who needs more match fitness than Smalling. I wouldn't underestimate Scunthorpe, and neither would Rio ... they won't park the bus like Rangers.

Perfect timing to give our new and fringe players a chance to show off their ability during Valencia's absence...

I'm sure Hernandez, Smalling, Obertan, Macheda, Anderson will start.

It'll be nice to see both Rafael and Fabio to play.

I hope PIG, Park, Brown will get some games to increase their fitness.

-------------PIG---------------
Rafael-Smalling-Ferdinand-Fabio
-Obertan-Anderson-Gibson-Park-
-----Hernandez--Macheda------

Subs: Amos, Brown, Neville, De Laet, Bebe, Owen, C. Evans.

Ferdinand Out - Brown in after Half-time break.
Owen to come in for either Hernandez or Macheda
Bebe sub for Park between 65'~70'.

Kuzx

Rafael Brown Smalling Fabio

Obertain Gibson Anderson Park

Owen Macheda

Subs:
Amos
Neville
Ferdinand
C Evans
Eikrem
Hernandez
Bebe

0-2

scorers: Macheda, Gibson.

I always look forward to these games, watching the youngsters get a run out. Should be good.

I've been thinking about this, and maybe Sir Alex won't go 442 from the start in an away game? I know it's 'only' the Carling Cup and he'll want to play the youngsters, but I can honestly see him going for a bit more stability for most of the game. I hear Eikrem has impressed, maybe he'll get a start in a three man midfield?

Kuszczak
Neville Brown Smalling Fabio
Gibson Eikrem Anderson
Obertan Owen Macheda
--
Amos; Rafael, De Laet; C. Evans, Park, Bebé; Hernandez

Ferdinand might get in if he's recovered from illness, but I think it'd be fine to put him right back in against Bolton. Rafael could start over Neville, but more experience might be wanted here.

Bebe and Macheda both going to be involved.
