Good win at the end. Scunthorpe showed a lot of heart and had a lot more efforts at goal, albeit from long range. Good workout for Rio, good performance by Smalling and Owen showed his predatory instincts by grabbing a couple of poachers goals. Bebe didn't do much wrong in his cameo, look forward to seeing him play again.
4-3-3 will not work if we plan on playing Kiko and Chico as wide-forwards, I hope that's not a long-term plan.

Obertan showed a lot more commitment to tracking back in that one 20 minute spell than he did in all his previous time on the pitch put together.
Very good match for the neutrals. The way we eventually rose to the occasion was very impressive. Well done all round.

tall, fast and powerful and seems very direct - a little like ronaldo without the 19 stepovers

Very enjoyable game. Scunthorpe played well and deserved a couple of goals and was good to see us continue our free flowing goals with a lot getting much-needed minutes on the clock.
Smalling and Rio standout
Owen Macheda and Hernandez very quiet first half, almost pointless although Macheda missed a good header and had a few nice bits of build up play...Hernandez set up Machedas header with a great cross but otherwise was bullied a bit
Gibson and Anderson unimpressive first half, great goal from Gibson though...Anderson grew into the game but Gibson didn't so much
