All (even the credible ones) sources are reporting a different figure (30, 32, 35m) which suggests they are all making it up, just jumping on the bandwagon. He will stay at Madrid once they calmed him down following his tantrum.

Those runs were some of the highlights of the season for me. The times when our defenders didn't look crap. McNair was the best at it.
 
I loved summer of 2012, I didnt track any news nor visited redcafe (partly because of the painful finish of that season), when I got back from the coast first day I heard we signed RVP. Wish I could do it this summer too. I want all this sagas to end as soon as possible but that wont happen. I can see this Ramos story dragging on for 10, 15 days.

Sure seems like this might happen. I'm a bit worried about us getting fleeced but if we don't go any higher than De Gea + 20 million (at the very most), then I guess we've done alright. Should give us three or four years with one of the best CB's in the world leading our defence. Unlike Schweinsteiger who seems to be just a few yards past his peak, Ramos has never been better than he is now.

We know DDG is off, and we're in the market for a world class centre half. I guess it does make sense, but i agree with a poster a couple pages back who said Madrid should be pulled up on their valuation of De Gea in the event of a swap. You can't offer 13m cash, but value him at 40-45m in a swap deal.

I think the club is playing this pretty well, actually. We're not in a strong negotiation position with De Gea's contract running down so we can't really demand a lot of money for him - we're not going to get that. So I think it's well played to say, you can have him, but only if we get one of your best players. Under normal circumstances Real would never sell Ramos to us but they're desperate enough to get DDG right now. I think it's pretty clever from the club but if we pay 45 million for a 29-year-old who's not Ronaldo/Messi then it doesn't look very clever anymore.
