I can give you that, those weights are most likely to be inaccurate. But this league does favour bigger CB. Ramos would be a good addition, especially in Europe but i don't fancy him against Lukaku for that instance.

Ramos is a great athlete and a very experienced CB who knows all the tricks, I don't think he'd have any problems dealing with Lukaku.

It'd be sweet seeing him line up against Costa again next season

He will wind up Lukaku all game long and make him lose his focus.

Remarkable isn't it.

I think most folks would appreciate Ramos here, but what is not appreciated is the fact that he is most likely not going to leave Madrid and is angling for a new contract, just like Alves.

We should sign Otamendi and have our back line sorted. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.

Now people slating the BBC. Pretty much the only place that you can fully trust in thw UK. There's a reason they don't post many transfer articles and often appear to be late to catching on.

It's now clear as day, if it wasn't before that we're interested. I doubt it will lead to anything, but the interest is from United and we don't really know the motives behind it.

It's impossible to slate the BBC because they're more conservative than the Vatican. They exist to confirm generally accepted fact. Even this headline states that we're "interested" -- not exactly going out on a limb, are they? We're probably interested in Messi too, but we won't be signing him.

I might place a bet on the exact day that Ramos signs a new contract with Real. My current guess is July 16th

Lukaku is bigger than Terry, Rio, Vidic and all those defenders you posted. By your logic we should put Fellaini in defense. Problem solved.

Ok sorry, I got a bit carried away there. Ramos is just one of my favourite players and suggesting he's a racist is just way off the mark. I won't contest anyone saying they don't rate him as a defender, that is their right. But Ramos' on and off the pitch behaviour is day and night, so a lot of people will try to find all kind of nonsense to make him look bad because they don't like how he conducts himself on the field. Same with Ronaldo.

Yeah that's fair enough, I'm sure he's a decent guy.

For what it's worth, I'm not convinced he's as world class as people make out. I think he's a very good defender but is perceived as better because the standard of centre backs is a lot lower today than it was 5-10 years ago (think Maldini, Stam, Nesta, Cannavaro, Rio, Vidic, Lucio, Carvalho, Terry etc).

He's better than anything we have at United though and was he to join, I wouldn't be too upset about his behaviour on the pitch (many times this year I felt we were lacking a bit of aggression on the field) as long as he could keep down his recently improved red card rate.

I'm fairly sure it's a moot point anyway. I'd be stunned if he was to leave Madrid this summer.

Course were interested, The Beeb are just stating the obvious!

Personally I'd prefer Otamendi, he seems very eager for move to United if the gossip and quotes are to be believed. United have a good record generally of signing players that love the history at the club and are genuinely proud to put on the United jersey so hopefully we opt for Otamendi.

he's definitely world class and has been for years. I've never understood why so many call him overrated. Maybe because he's such a prick on the field.

Hmmm...

 good picture,I didn't remember it,just for curiosity in case that someone doesnt know, that is the wise men festival,in spanish "reyes magos"(magic kings). We dont celebrate Santa Claus. Here the presents come 6th of January in the morning, and the 5th the kings(Melchor,Gaspar and Baltasar the black) go to every city to say hello to the kids and throw candies.Actually is a privilege to be a magic king.Van Nistelrooy was black king as well,I think that in Torremolinos or Fuengirola, when was playing for Malaga

No because football fans, seems to believe that a player can't be good and sometimes make mistakes, as if football wasn't a game of mistakes.

This isn't happening for numerous reasons... We should just stick with Otamendi and sign him asap.

I understand that BBC football journalists have to fill their pages, and given that there is more interest in United than anyone else they have to say something about us. No quotes, no facts, this is filling, not news.

No, you don't understand sourcing and briefing, basically.

This is news. It's news because somebody at Manchester United has spoken to some heavies throughout the British media. You don't need a quote to know that, it's simply how it works in the field.

I can't see this potential move materializing at all. I think we're playing hardball over de Gea which I like though.

If I'm not mistaken the BBC and the Press Association live of selling solid information to other media outlet they don't need clicks and they aren't seeking after it.

I trust the BBC (and other) sources. I think we want Ramos as part of the De Gea deal.

I'm 99% sure he will end up staying and getting a new contract. But if nothing else, our insistence on getting Ramos as part of the deal with slow things down RE De Gea.

The silence from Real is deafening. They love nothing more than rushing out to deny a transfer story. Already done it twice with Verratti and Pogba. We might sign this clown

Loads of unattributed stuff gets published, and not only in the world of football. Politicians are notorious for it. I have no doubt that somebody at Old Trafford planted this story for whatever reason.

It must be amazing to hear Woodie just throwing names in the phone when Madrid call for De Gea.

Perez: So Ed, what do you want for David?
Woodie: Bale, Ronaldo, Ramos, Benzema, Hugo Sanchez, Raul, Zidane.
Perez: Ed, Sanchez is 58 now.
Woodie: You bastards drive a hard bargain here.

Metrosexual, play acting, dirty, cheating scum bag.

Of course he isn't going to be popular.

He's also a very capable defender, quality on the ball and an attacking threat and I'd take him here in a second.

As someone who once had two birds in a bush I can confirm this is not true.

@Dracula - no.

Mrs Ramos is pretty tasty... Pilar Rubio. However she's also another Spanish TV presenter. It looks like we're rtying to swap one WAG Spanish presenter for another. Maybe MUTV is branching into Espana?

Well worth a click...

A great defender and would love Ramos at United. However, make no mistake about it, this all about money. Ramos is on about half the money that the Real "Galacticos" are on and all the recent signings such as Kroos and Rodriguez make more money. Ramos makes around the same money as Sami Khedira did before he left the team this offseason. Real's last contract offer asked him to take a pay cut and Ramos is pissed off, I pretty sure they will sort this out, Ramos will get his raise and it will be a case of another player using United to get a better contract.

quoting myself again to say the same thing about this transfer
a player (or player's agent) using us to get a better contract shocker
will be shocked if this transfer actually happens, ramos will get his wish - pay raise and new contract.
