Also if we do pull this off I'll be mightily impressed with Ed, he's played hardball over de Gea and it's slowly working...

"Give us Benzema."
"He doesn't want to join you."
"F*ck you, give us Varane."
"No chance."
"F*ck you, give us Ramos."

A bit like Keane isn't it? Not had a player like him since. He clearly has the same temperament as him too, 19 red cards back it up :nervous::lol:

That really is the most amazing stat. Even with his reputation Keane only had 7 his whole career. And Ramos' partner in crime Pepe only has 3 in his career at Real.

Falcao and Di Maria signings might indicate that Woodward wants splashy "big name" transfers above all else.
I don't understandy why would anybody blame him for last summer.
We got Di Maria, who had an outstanding season for Madrid in midfield, and who was called as one of the best wingers around by LvG. This transfer made made a lot of sense.
We were also very happy about Falcao deal once we got the news. Loaning him was a smart move.

It's not Woodward fault that Falcao forgot how to play football and Di Maria wasn't good enough to play ahead of Young.

Fergie and moyes left the squad in a mess. We are behind others now, so need to bring in a few worldies to get on a level. Ramos would be a great start

That signing would be the absolute dream.

Tbh, when you look at that Madrid squad, there's around 8-10 players would be considered dream signings. They're overloaded with quality, so much that it's not fair.

Yep, Someone posted it on here yesterday. I thought it was a typo, it's not!

Please don't compare Keane and Ramos. Thanks.

I was joking feck sake! To be fair, Ramos has won it all, more than Keane. He'll go down as a great CB from our generation, no doubt about it.

Never get that many trophies though. Bit of a circus club. Then again hard to topple the Barcelona Messi era.

If we got Ramos, that would be a big statement. Despite his crazy sending off record, he would be well received and knowing Madrid fans would be upset? Would be nice :) God what a summer for them! Possibly losing Ramos..Blatter on the way out ...:)

It's interesting that unlike every other transfer under LVG, we went public with our interest and bid. Probably to put Real under pressure and unsettle the player?

Chuffed that he'd consider even playing for us, being an elite Spanish player and all. Different level from Mata and De Gea when we signed him.

Fecking hell........... this is gathering traction and it's gathering it fast!

I'm on board, if we don't sign him I'll be incredulous!

If we had of kept up the transfer strategy we were operating under Fergie, a man who is regarded the best manager of all time and could make the most average of players look like word beaters, well then we'd be truly screwed. This 'United signing' thing is also a load of rubbish. It's only because we had the same manager for 27 years that we seen a similar trend with signings every summer. It has nothing to do with how United should operate forever and it's that kind of romanticised talk that landed us with David Moyes.

How has signing the likes of Mata, Di Maria, Falcao served us? They haven't done shit for us. Our best signing last year was Herrera, not a big name but a tidy player with a good attitude, young and has immersed himself in the ethos of the club. We need players who we can mould, not players who we have to try and shoehorn in.

Madrid calling Woody looking for an update on De Gea Transfer, Woody be like:

I am not excited at all about this transfer and I rather us not move for him. But, it is funny how this place works suddenly he is the CB we are dying for when a few weeks go people talked about him in the same way people talk about David Luiz.

So, we've finally turned the tables on Madrid.

It went from being Madrid get United players blah blah blah, DDG will move to Madrid it's irresistible... to the Madrid fans worried about Ramos leaving and discontent in their ranks.

Fecking love it.... all hail Woody!!!!

Good point. We need to realise that (a) the recent 'United way' was actually Sir Alex's way, and (b) that we need to move on from Sir Alex's way.

Those people were clueless. You should name them.

Mata has contributed to us getting back into Europe and Di Maria has had a poor season, no denying that, but it's far too early to deem him a failure. I agree on Herrera, terrific little player, but he didn't come cheap either did he?

Best journalist for Spanish football or best British journalist who covers football.
One step further, best journalist who covers football. The guys riveting, loved his book on El Classico, seems to be a top bloke too.

Think Ramos would frustrate a lot of people if he signs. Obviously a very talented footballer and someone who would improve us a lot but he's also capable of immense stupidity and inconsistency.

Given his age and likely price he's basically going to the opposite of a bargain. I guess we're looking for players with a certain amount of status though....
