I don´t think so, if they forgot di Maria gesture or Cristiano "sadness", then everything will be ok, although might be some exceptions, from pro Mourinho fans
Is there many of them around? He wasn't exactly successful there and didn't carry himself with much dignity, painting Madrid in a bad light in my opinion.

Ramos would've extended his contract by now normally, I can also definately see van Gaal being interested in a him. I think Real Madrid might be willing to sell him but probably want alot, de Gea could be used in our favour.
Ramos has won it all at RM but I still can't really picture him leaving, he would have signed a new contract if he got offered what he wanted. He's made alot of noise now and he wasn't friends with Perez anyways, this might be the latters chance to get rid of senior figures at the club so nobody gets too powerfull who he doesn't like. The PL does have it's charme, that's why I prefer it as a Dutchman. It could be true Ramos is a fan aswell and wants to play here, or that he's just angling for a contract but keeps his options open.

If you think Ramos would leave Real Madrid to play RB at United you are absolutely off your rocker.
What difference does it make? He has played there pleanty of times for Spain. We have all talked here about if he was to move; he would move for the money, not for the love of football or the club.

However, if they do sell Ramos to Chelsea or City where exactly is that 30 odd million going to come back to? It's going to come back to us or they spend the year with an unhappy GK & an average defense ( pretty average as it is).
Playing out of position for the national side is different, one off games. No top CB enjoys having to feature on the flank, it is a demotion of sorts. He would expect to be played at CB and that is exactly where he would play 9 times out of 10 if he was to come here.
I think they'll the De Gea thing as a separate thing. It's a case of stumping up the cash for him now, or they wait another season and get him for free. But regardless, it's unlikely that Ramos will end up here.
Again its not a question of demotion. He isnt coming to united to get a promotion; he is coming here for the money.
If i was ramos ofcourse id want to play CB but the question was where does van gaal see ramos playing. His ideal position would mean our best CB of last season be demoted. LCB position is not Ramos's strongest position if you look at it through van gaals eyes.

smalling did step up a bid by the last year, but both in terms of the solidity of his game and the leadership he's still distanct away from maturity. there is still some naivety inside his personality. watch out how did he response whenever we conceded a goal that he thought we shouldn't be. his body language and facial expression did give out some negativity which could hinder him from stepping up further to command in the back line. in one day i want to see him just showing out some iron face whatever it happens, just like what rio & vidic did.
maybe in a longer run even jones could be one day to step up as a genuine leader in the back line. go review our first two league games of the last season when he played alongside two juniors of him. his calm & leadership really impressed me and that two were the best games of him i've ever seen. and jones was regarded as the most complete player after edwards when he first joined us. i like varane, but i don't know if he is really a more complete player than jones. but jones needs to wipe out his baby fat immediately.
and no doubt boateng was not available anyway. weeks ago he went out to say he is happy in bayern and won't consider a leave. i bet we did inquire with bayern of his availability.
kompany did drop out of his form by the last season and it's temporary. but silva have regressed severely as shown in his recent copa america games and i'm afraid he might have past it. naming top 10 best current defenders is no way under my capability. you can't do that unless you watch almost all the games worldwide and this job can only belong to the professionals.
not trying to push you to the corner, dude. but saying ramos is not a top player is really over-reaching even he's not my cup of tea. i would say a top player is he can walk in any top club and to be their starting eleven. i really won't see much top clubs would reject ramos due to footballing reasons if they need a new defender for replacement

I know both smalling and jones can play RB; but ramos is thrice the RB they are. I dont want to talk about this again as I did in the valencia thread; but the fact we play so narrow would mean that Ramos plays predominantly centrally; and again dribbles with his head up bringing the ball forward much like blind does on the left.
The least of our worries defensively is our RCB spot; our most worrying being both the RB spot and the LCB spot. Ramos rightfully should get some game time there but the tough cnut van gaal is; wouldn't suprise me going after a left footed CB.

He simply won't accept being shifted into the RB spot imo, as he will view himself as the best CB in the team, and rightly so. If we want a RB, we shouldn't be signing him.

LvG played Jones at LCB. He clearly isn't hell bent on the left footer at LCB idea. I think Ramos and smalling can be a decent CB partnership.
I wasn't the one who brought it up.
It was Evans, Rojo and Blackett; a donkey could have done a better job. That's not a case for buying a donkey.
Suprised you have become such a fan; a couple of months back he wasn't even in your top 5.

Van gaals defence is a bit different in that his central defenders dont lead the defence; it is his DM's that lead the defence as the two central defenders are regarded as the last in line. Thats why its easier to understand the fullback positions as defensive midfielders; players who organise the defence. Consider that Ramos, Carrick and Blind play in front of the 2 central defenders and you can see exactly how they are the ones organising the defence.
For large periods of the season that position was occupied by Rojo & Evans(when back from suspension) . Towards the second half the season we saw more and more of jones at LCB. Again, im not saying Ramos wont have the ability to play there, im just saying judging by 'his way' attitude and especially if we get a complete stopper like Schneiderlin then a left footed CB who can pass the ball becomes much much more important.

Surely more likely that An agreement will be reached and Ramos will move to United as De Gea moves to Madrid. Can't see him moving to anywhere other than United.
Yes i do bro. I just feel that sometimes the players that cost a bit less can suprise people alot. I regard him as the replacement of vidic; not in playing style but with regards to the type of transfer it would be. Furthermore, i can think of only 2 or 3 ball playing defenders who are ambidextrous like him.
Its the same reason i assume we went in for Rojo as soon as possible.

If Madrid wants to be practical and sensible, then yes. But instead they will act on the whim of the club president, and there are huge egos at play here.
As for Ramos not moving to anywhere but United, I think he will move to whichever high profile club is willing to pay his massive transfer fee, and the salary he feels he deserves. We are definitely not the only candidates.
I'm not saying there's no chance he'll come to us, I'm just saying it's is far less likely than most people think.
I'd rather we bought Coleman and play him at right back and put in at left back Shaw. Ramos at centre back would be different case though as he is better than any of our centre backs.

Ramos for me. I've always felt we badly need someone who could lead and organize our defence line, and drive our team forward. No one does it better than Ramos in these aspects.
Yes, he would walk into our side and start. But that's also because we were very poor defensively last year and would be an obvious upgrade. It's just about context. There were people on this board calling for shawcross to come in, lest we forget that. Any defender who is better than our current crop is obviously going to be seen in a higher light, because our defense was glaringly bad, it's just human nature. As I've said a million times on this thread, if we get him cool, but I'd rather kick the tires on something else. If he's the best we can get, ok that's cool, and if he becomes the star of the team I'll more than happily eat my words.
The BBC mentioned nothing on Gundogen. The BBC are in a whole different bracked of reliability when compared to SSN.
This is insane. Of course van Gaal wants him in CB position, it makes absolutely no sense to buy 29 year old Ramos and shift him to righback. I don’t know how could you even think that. He played for Spain as RB but it isn’t the case for a long long time. He was decent because he has great technique, but Carvajal is a massive improvement (hell, even Arbolea played there before Dani, and he’s shite).
If we buy Ramos, he will be our LCB- no question about it. From what I’ve seen he plays there for Madrid, with Pepe/Varane on the right.
It doesn’t matter he’s right footed, because he’s probably in top 3 ball playing defenders in the world. No 1 for me, and his left foot is better than Smalling right (no offence to Chris).
I can't believe some are still thinking we will get him. Ramos or his agent used us to get at Perez and secure him a good deal and United don't mind because it increases the value of the inevitable sale of De Gae to Madrid.
Right now I will settle for another year with De Gae and then he can leave on a free, and we get Otamendi pronto. But the damage that will bring to Real to have another year without a top keeper, and possibly what that would do to De Gae knowing Real wouldn't want to pay the asking price for him.. that might work out in our favour.

Maybe I wasn't clear, the second half against Leicester like you said yourself was partially the consequences of inexperience( and you added failure), I think that we need a player of character and experience in that back line and I think that Ramos is a good candidate for that role. I think that for example a player of that ilk would have changed a lot of things in that second half, that affirmation applies to Ramos, Evra, Carrick and every experienced player.
At no point I'm telling you that Ramos through his 'magnificent' defensive abilities would have been able to stop Leicester by himself but I do think that he would have changed the attitude, the mental state of the players around him, I think that players with experience and character instill confidence and composure around them.
Finally I do not think that Ramos is the best centre back out there but he is undoubtedly one of the best, not being in my top 5 doesn't mean that I don't rate him.
