Will any of the other players be joining us at any stage?

Here is Shanghai's line-up for their last two games:

18th vs. Changchun Yatai (Draw 0-0, lost 3-5 on penalty kicks)

1-Wang Dalei;20-Wu Xi、5-Dai Lin、23-Qiu Tianyi、12-Bai Jiajun;6-Yu Tao、10-Jiang Kun(36-Wang Shouting 77')、28-Cao Yunding (33-Yan Song 90')、7-Feng Renliang、37-Moreno; 39-Anelka(46-Xu Qi 79')

14th vs. Beijing Guoanc (Won 3-1, Song Boxuan, Cao Yunding and Moises scoring)

1-Wang Dalei;20-Wu Xi、5-Dai Lin、3-Moises、12-Bai Jiajun;21-Wang Guanyi、36-Wang Shouting;8-Song Boxuan(28-Cao Yunding 32')、10-Jiang Kun(46-Xu Qi 69')、7-Feng Renliang;37-Moreno(15-Fei Yu 78')

It would seem Drogba hasn't made his debut yet. This would be a good time.

I read that the Euro players will return for the European part of the tour, which is the game after this one - against Valerenga.

If Drogba and Anelka play, our defense will be a huge test for our defenders. :nervous:

Lindegaard
Vermijl---Wootton---Ferdinand---Blackett
Petrucci---Carrick---Anderson
Valencia---Berbatov---Brady

Don't for a minute think that'll be the team of course, but I'd be interested in seeing it given a go. First start for Petrucci (of hopefully hundreds); Valencia and Brady on the wings to support Vermijl and Blackett (who keep their places for the confidence boost); Scholes rested but Rio has to play due to the lack of defenders and likely presence of Drogba; Berbatov can drop back if necessary to help the midfield whilst we retain the options of pace on the wings in attack. Simples :wenger:

Isnt Vidic joining the team for this? Or is the one after this one?
Yesterday's backline against Drogba and Anelka would be fun :D

Didn't the owner of the club put himself on the teamsheet recently because he fancied a game?

 That's ace. Definitely something I'd be tempted to do if I owned a football club.

Surprised Roman hasn't done it yet. Having said that, you can tel by looking at him he'd be shocking at football. He looks like he has zero coordination.

I can see Kagawa getting dog's abuse from the Shenhua fans.

Lindegaard
Vermijl-Wooton-Rio-Blackett
Valencia-Carrick-Petrucci-Brady
Kagawa
Berbatov

Would like to see this, though not sure how Carrick and Petrucci in CM would work out. Might as well try it though.

Random rumour going round the Chinese media that the owner of Shanghai Shenhua, 45-year-old Zhu Jun, is, erm, going to start t'row night!

Hot looking stadium. Shame cause it would be perfect time if it was a lunch time/afternoon kick off. 7pm kicks me in the balls. :(

I can see Kagawa getting dog's abuse from the Shenhua fans.

Oh yeah, just like we give out "dog's abuse" to every German player....

I'm sure the Chinese will be supportive of a fellow Asian playing for Manchester United, it's something all of the Far East tends to get behind.

I know nothing makes a Yemeni's heart swell up with pride more than seeing a Japanese man playing for an English football club.

Nope, but a middle eastern/arabian player playing for Manchester United probably would. I think you know what I meant but I'd edited it for your approval.

I think I know what you meant, too. I just figured hinting at it by mentioning a bit of geography was more diplomatic then pointing out what you said was pretty well along the lines of "They all look alike."

And if anything, that edit makes it more blatant.

Well, being someone who has actually spent about 4 years of my life in the Far East, I can tell you that they don't look alike at all. The difference between a Thai and a Japenese person is like comparing your stereotypical Swede with a stereotypical Italian.

but erm... good point.

Swedes usually get pretty excited when Italians move to big clubs, do they?

Fascinated to see how deep you plan on digging this hole.

There's a huge difference, for the Far East, it's pioneering and a great thing to see fellow players from that region plying their trade in the top league. There has always been talk of a prejudice against players from the Far East and Middle East, that players aren't good enough or only good for selling shirts. The more players from these regions in the top leagues the better.

Hence why I reckon someone from Yemen would actually be pretty supportive of someone from the UAE emirates moving to Manchester United.

As I say, I've spent enough time watching United in bars in China, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, Malyasia, Indonesia to know that the locals have always been pretty supportive of Park. I'm going off personal experience here.

But you can make it out like I just said "they all look alike", if that makes you feel better.

 Ok then. Chinese and Japanese football fans love each other. Never mind the riots in the 2004 Asian Cup. Never mind the TANKS the Chinese Security Forces deployed in 2010 to prevent a recurrence of those riots. No, they'll all support Kagawa in Shanghai, and you know this cuz you've been in a lot of bars.

Chinese and Japanese football fans love each other.

I said this when?

Give it a rest Excal ffs. I simply said I'm sure Kagawa won't be given dogs abuse and that he'll be supported as a fellow Asian player playing for Manchester United, I reckon that will be the case. But please do carry on with your bizarre argument.

From my understanding Chinese people really really dislike Japanese people. You can't compare it with the English disliking the Germans.

I'm sure Chinese Man United fans will be very supportive of Kagawa, but I'm not too sure how neutral Chinese football fans will respond to a Japanese player. Then again, Shenhua isn't playing against the Japanese national team. so all is good I hope.
