If we sign Hazard what chancer we also sign Kagawa? Or is Kagawa our backup option?

feck knows.

We might just play a Barca type system packed full of attackers that keep the ball with Carrick doing the Biscuits role.

Truth is, we haven't a clue but getting 2 very good players into our squad can't be a bad thing.

Ive decided not to keep up with the latest transfer happenings - as long s we buy midfielders and fullbacks I am happy.

Hazard in, Anderson out. Kagawa in, Scholes gets more rest. Easy.

I doubt we play a:

----------Kagawa--Hazard---------
---------------Carrick-------------

formation. Too exposed. We need Carrick to hunt wild lions in Africa for the summer and come back muscled up with a new found aggression to make it work.

Does it matter which teams he scores against really? He scores regularly in the Bundelisga and against Bayern in the German Cup final

That's wasn't the point, the point was, his goals with Dortmund are what have set the value, goals like that against Azerbaijan now will not increase his value :D

i think this will be resolved before or after he goes for world cup qualifiers which starts on June 3rd. I hope it's resolved before. Going to try and see what's happening on Arsenal's end. Havent heard anything other than Wenger going to meet with Kagawa.

I don't know why but I consider him as a United player already :wenger:

Don't worry bro... As do all of us.. Cause like DDG its as good as done.. But we wont get a word of it till the Medical pics pop up..

Sure about it?

16m seems a bit steep for someone who is in his last year of his contract and wants to leave the club.

Then again we did pay the same for Ashley Young so I guess it makes sense that Dortmund would ask for an equivalent fee.

16 millions, 20 millions... whatever ! He's worth it and still at the age when he may develop even more to his overall football coolness.

His solid contribution to Borussia's attacking play and title winning experience is what SAF should considered as a pretty easy decision to make this deal happen.

The guy has no epic ego. He looks very disciplined and ready to step up to the far bigger challenges.

What was the common opinion then? If we sign Hazard is this deal off? Or can we fit both in?

SAF already met Shinji in person. That deal is clearly on. Perhaps even more on than this whole epic Hazard saga.

I believe, both are main targets.

I'm not sure that means an awful lot tbh we once agreed a deal for Senna and that never happened because we had other targets in that position

Thing is, £16 million for one of the most popular players in the Far East. Given our fan base there, and his fans. Both parties will do very well because of that.

The only reason why he's expensive is that he wants to be loyal to Dortmund and try to get them the best possible price ( Considering he was only bought for 350k ), but yeah the quotes about 16m are just assumptions, the real price could be a lot less because Dortmund would be getting tons of profit for him anyway.

I don't think we can compare him to Young in price regards as A.Young was bought for quite a large sum ( 12m if I recall ) so thats why he's resale price was probably at 18m.

Still though, these are just estimates, numbers and I'm pretty sure it'll be totally different in the end. I for one guess that Kagawa will go for the first quoted price of around 7-10m which would be similar to Nuri Sahin.

I think it's one or the other, but we can definitely fit both of them in the team in certain situations. Kagawa could be used in a midfield 3, with Hazard in the front 3, or Hazard on the wing or in the Rooney role and Kagawa being in central midfield. No idea how Kagawa would do in a 2 man midfield, but Sir Alex would probably use him there on occasion, if we signed him.

True, but if You'll look at United's recent transfer actions, You can easily notice that Kagawa and Hazard remaining as two main transfer topics... so far.

I'm basing that opinion on Gill's words that our transfer targets have been identified and at the start of pre-season tour, we will have full sqaud with new players.

No one can predict with accuracy what will happen in the next two or three weeks, though but that would be kinda unwise if SAF would just rely his whole transfer window plans to just one player's decision.

Carrick's pretty cut. Deceptively strong.

I think that sort of lineup would work well against most teams in the league. Particularly after those teams had time to see it at work and become 'scared' of it.

It'd be like when Ronaldo started to emerge and teams adopted wildly defensive tactics which meant they rarely tried to take advantage of the midfield weakness. Plus Nani and Valencia are better defensively than Ronaldo + whoever else was on the other wing.

If United are after BOTH Kagawa and Hazard I think that means Rooney is playing as the main striker next season. For all of the talk of the wide areas both of these players seem more suited to the 10 role. Kagawa certainly is more of this type of player and from reading the Hazard thread that seems to be his long term position. Hazard, of course, looks like he is a very good wide player already in his own right. For all the FM type formations I doubt you will see either play as a partner for Micheal Carrick next season. With Berba gone and if we did not sign another striker there is more than room for both, especially as Hazard appears already to be used to playing from out wide.

Still want us to prioritise a more orthodox central player because it's long overdue and if I have to read constant threads about our central midfield next season on the CAF I'm going have a RAWK style meltdown of my own but at the end of the day the squad could do with a 98, 01 or 08 type of injection of players and there are a few good servants who will be off this year or next(Park, Giggs, Scholes, etc) and players who have outstayed their welcome or who are never quite going to make the level they could do.

Just read that Arsenal are now favourites for him...gonna be a long summer.

United are huge in Japan. He will come to OT if we make him an offer

I like Michael Carrick but he's extremely easy to beat in a 50/50 that is one of his downsides. Makes up for it with his deep lying pass/playmaker ability.

You can't tick ALL the boxes.
Strength is definitely one that was skipped over when building Carricks attributes.

I actually think it's more a problem with his agility and quickness that's why he sometimes has problems with staying on his feet when he faces a fast player going into a dribbling against him.

But I don't think there are to many midfielders that could easily muscle him off the ball.

Hopefully Miyiachi gave Kagawa some sweet Japanese whispers regarding Arsenal during the international camp... I would love it if he was to join us.

I daresay he and Miyiachi would (not only to he star players for us, but) prove to be an absolute boon financially.

He could lie or he could tell the truth and tell Shinji that United are by far the bigger club... ;)
