He's already played for Barca...so we can at least be safe in the knowledge if he's a big success...he won't cry about playing for them :)

I was winding people up being unfunny and not bothered throughout the Hazard saga because he wasn't my choice, but losing out on this one would have devastated me. Absolutely delighted.

Happy with whatever we do now the rest of the summer.

Hell yeah. Fantastic signing, but surely we shouldnt be confirming it until the medical and work permit is sorted? Maybe just formalities but still...

Very good, exciting player.

I'll update the transfer's thread a bit later, any mention of a fee?

Excited to see him in a united shirt - have a good feeling about him

Just a shame about the asia cup which is a nuisance

This will be one of our better transfers in recent years. Up there with the likes of Vidic and Evra in terms of long term value.

Can see him being a real fan favorite.

Very happy that this as been finally wrapped up. Just need a DM and a left back and we're good to go.

Is he our first ever Japanese player? I'm struggling to think of another. Anyway to the Martinez thread

If he isnt the greatest Asian player of all time it will be not be a good signing.

Seriously

He'll be an awesome asset to our squad. Rooney (26), Welbeck (21), Nani (25), Valencia (26), Young (26), Kagawa (23), Hernandez (24).... pace, skills, movement, goal threat, now that is some forward line to pick! (and incredibly young as well)

Can't wait to see him in action for us

I am looking forward to seeing him in action. I have only seen him live on TV for 1 and a 1/2 games and seen all the You Tube footage.

He really does look impressive. But I do think it will take a while to find his feet at the club.

He looks a bit light weight and may be forced off the ball quite easily. But no reason why he cannot adapt.
