Shinji Kagawa

Playing at Suncorp tonight. If I still lived in Brisbane i'd go for sure.
Instead watching on the couch with the mrs.

Should be interesting. All the headlines have been 'Aerial bombardment set for Japan' the way they played against Jordan we're going to get carved to feck on the ground. Australia's football is built on the scrap though.

I am expecting a cagey 0-0 or 1-0 either way. I don't think it's going to be pretty unless Japan get a head of steam up.

edit: BEATEN!

:D - Hope Shinji plays well. Regardless I don't really care about the result too much in all honesty.

Fifteen minutes in and I'm already impressed. So comfortable on the ball and has slick one touch passing. He is playing on the left side of midfield but he is drifting centrally a lot.

A real contrast of styles; Australia very direct, bordering on neanderthal football - just lumping it forward to Brosque and Cahill, Japan very technical, great one and two touch passing, Kagawa and Honda on another level but the state of the pitch curbing their attacks a touch.

I love how commentators are always a font of knowledge and always do thorough research into the teams and players they're talking about.

According to this one, Kagawa should have shot on his right foot near the end of the half but he tried to take it on his favoured left foot.

Japan looking good technically, in a few years could be a good market for us :) Kagawa great mobility. Hopefully we see more of him in the second half

Pitch is horrible.
Kagawa's ball movement has been superb. Great dribbling but his touch (like in the Jordan game) has been off a little bit at times.

 just saw that red card... shocker.

There's a good piece with German football expert Raphi Honigstein about Kagawa. Would link but got to dash out. Worth reading.

This match has been much more entertaining then a match I watched yesterday.

Good play by honda. So how does this result affect qualification??

The tempo has been fantastic.

Aussies were up for it very early and wilted a little bit after going hell for leather.
Ridiculous red card on Milligan and now 0-1 Japan.

Kagawa has looked fantastic. Vision, pace, ball movement just his touch letting him down a few times.

He has fantastic vision.

Kagawa has been such a team player, setting up team mates when he could have gone for glory himself

If today/ last week are any indication, he's going to make Rooney and Welbeck very, very happy. The positions he takes up on the edge of the box and then his deft, smart one touch passing is exactly the type of thing they both look for.

That coupled with the role that he fulfils for Dortmund in a counter attacking style...drool...

Some shite ref alright.

Best thing about this game is the atmosphere. No segregation of fans means a great atmosphere for me.

Lol did you see the second yellow for Milligan?
Basically took a shot and someone dived into his foot.

I want to see Cleverley - Welbeck - Kagawa triangles. I'm going to touch myself when it happens.

I think every United player will enjoy playing with him but for different reasons. Players like Nani will love his flicks and one touch passing to set him free, Rooney will love his support play from deeper and so on.

This is starting to be a bit of a press cut copy paste by us. It's a bit small time if that's the case. Kinda like City getting their signings saying Manchester is blue.

Its a lot more believable considering we went in for him his first year in Germany before we were warned off him and then he got injured. So us coming back in for him would no doubt mean a lot to him

He's absolutely brilliant, going to be a superstar for us. So excited about the deal. Always looks to create something, we've lacked that at times with our almost too meticulous play.
