The Bayern v Dortmund game is on here in Aus (Mitch Langerakk in goal) and Shinji had an absolute blinder in this game with SAF in the stands.
Hadn't seen this game properly before. Immense game. Even Ribery the cnut's goal was fantastic. Was telling (in hindsight) that Shinji with a huge smile on his face is shaking hands and hi fiving the coaching staff. I think he's going to be a hit with us. He really looks like a fine young lad with his head screwed on.
Can't wait to see him in the tablecloth.

Giroud, Podolski, Kuszczak, Hazard, Marin to name a few who haven't been allocated shirt numbers for their new clubs (to my knowledge). The announcement of squad numbers on signing is a lot rarer than you'd think.
Always find the likes of Arsenal and ourselves very secretive about this sort of thing. I wonder is it a strategic marketing ploy so that once fans have got over the excitement/disappointment of the new shirt, number announcements cause another small spike in shirt sales

Anything could happen in the remainder of the transfer window is probably the main reason why shirt numbers aren't allocated straight away. They could end up giving a player one number, only for another player with the number the new signing originally wanted deciding to leave in which case they may have to change their number again.
He's been nominated for the FIFA World POTY apparently. Not bad for a shirt seller.
