Kagawas movement was fantastic and he seemed to but a good defensive shift in also so not too suprised. It's great to have players who are not only exceptionally talented but also driven to work hard. I think Kagawa will be phenomenal for us

You mean to say Scholes was 2nd in distance covered? That might embarrass some players. I suggest if anyone but a center back or goalkeeper fails to cover more ground than Scholes he should be flogged.

Agreed - you should also exclude those players who have not completed 90 mins like welbeck, van persie, anderson etc

What about a midfield of Carrick and Kagawa Nani and Valencia on the flanks with RVP and Ronney in the hole interchanging with Kagawa in midfield attacking areas?

Would work against weaker teams but we would get screwed over by a decent midfield. Kagawa and Carrick are good but Kagawa would leave Carrick exposed due to his inexperience in that area. Would much prefer scholes, clevs or ando in a midfield 2.

Also the weaker teams are where the likes of clev, ando and Powell need to be playing. If we had injuries or really wanted to go attacking then in sure it could work against a weaker team but other then that I don't see the point. Not like ando and clev are so good they can just come in for harder games.

He's gonna be in his fair share of shitty MUTV adverts, that's for sure.

The faster pace game we play them Kagawa will thrive. If we play at the tempo we started at last season he will be immense.

Shinji Kagawa: my dream came true when I played for Manchester United

Shinji Kagawa is "confident of great outcomes" for Manchester United this season despite Sir Alex Ferguson's side losing their opening Premier League match at Everton 1-0.

Kagawa, who was United's standout outfield player in Monday's defeat, wrote on his Facebook page: "Four days ago one of my dreams finally came true. Playing what I love to do in the Premier League. We ended up losing but as I train more and immerse myself into the club and communicate more with team-mates, I'm confident that the great outcomes will follow naturally.

"[On] the match day it surely was a big day but I wasn't nervous at all. But even though there were some good performances, they don't mean much if they don't lead to goals."

Kagawa started in Ferguson's team behind Wayne Rooney in his favoured No10 position, though he had expected to be a substitute. "Considering the atmosphere of the practice sessions, I was thinking that I would be starting off from the bench, not on the pitch," he said. "But it turned out to be the opposite – playing the full 90 minutes.

"Time flies and the second match, against Fulham, is coming up tomorrow [Saturday]. It's a home match, a beloved home match. As I experienced in Cerezo Osaka, Borussia Dortmund [his two former clubs] and the Japan national team, the atmosphere and environment of a home match is nothing but great for the club. With this home advantage, all I want is nothing but to win the match."

We usually seem to pick up the players with classy personalities unlike the likes of City and Liverpool who are full of cnuts. Good on Shinji, hope he starts tomorrow

Judging by that he has high expectations for the atmosphere at Old trafford. He'll probably have to get used to a quieter home crowd than what he had at Borussia that's for sure

Lets hope he can get O.T on there feet then!

The only reason why he didn't have a bigger impact on our attacking play last Monday was the lack of passes he was given. Due to our traditional way of play by utilising the wings, mostly Scholes, Welbeck and Cleverley opted for a pass to either Nani or Valencia instead of giving it to Kagawa.

Once we know how to use him and once the other players know that he is good enough to escape close situations, he will have a big impact on our attacking play.

Looking very much forward to seeing him tomorrow - given Fergie's comments on him, I expect him to feature from the beginning.

In time, the team will hopefully realise that they can pass to Kagawa even if he's tightly marked or not - that's the type of player he is. He doesn't need space to work - if anything, he's better in tight matches because his passing and movement is perfect for it.

As said above, he didn't recieve the ball enough from the team. I do expect this to continue for a bit - but I hope by the end of September, every player will know what he's capable of. Maybe even sooner if they're smart.

He made 4 key passes on Monday. Silva and Mata averaged 3 or so last season - so he's made a fantastic start. Shifting him out to the wing may take away some of his effectiveness but playing a 4-2-3-1 is different to a 4-4-2. In a 4-4-2, he's a winger. In a 4-3-2-1, he's a wide attacking midfielder, which I believe is his position at times for Japan.

He's going to be so disappointed by the atmosphere

They are just showing a documentary about Dortmunds stadium and the "yellow wall", their 25k people stand.

I think there really aren't many stadiums in the world that offer a better atmosphere then Dortmunds stadium.

Too bad there are no stands allowed in the PL I think it would do a lot for the atmosphere if they were still allowed and would be the home of all active supporters like it is in Dortmund.

Kagawa also covered more ground than any other player for United (vs everton) with 6.11 miles, ahead of the evergreen Paul Scholes with 5.68 miles.

How exactly is scholes covering more ground than most other players. I can understand him being above defenders, but really our other midfielders/wingers and strikers really should be covering more ground than him if they play the full game. He plays as a deep lying player these days and I wouldn't be expecting him to be covering the second most amount of ground in the team at his age.

We need to get the rest of our players making more runs of the ball from the looks of this

I thought the standing section was about to be sanctioned?

He is brilliant, just keeps the play ticking over and barely loses the ball. He could have had one or two assists also yet again. He will be involved in a lot of goals this season I'm sure, just hope he don't end up shafting him out wide to accommodate others

Central midfielders cover the most ground on the pitch, Xavi will be covering more ground than the other Barcelona players until he retires because it's just the kind of player he is. Scholes is the same.

I love him which is mental as he has played 135 minutes of official football for us.

He's settled in brilliantly and it's as if he has been playing for us for many seasons. Makes it look effortless at times and his constant movement makes him very difficult to defend. Superb start to his Utd career.

He's a tsunami, he washes over the field of play. His passes in all directions are like the tentacles of an octopus raping the opposition.
