I just love the little fella already, he is going to be a huge player for us for a long time.

I cant say that i'm his biggest fan. Im happy that he got the goals and contributed to the overall team effort.

Mister ferguson can you tell me where my love has gone?

He's my Japanese boy.

I was there Saturday. He actually started poorly, but boy did he make up for that. The through ball to Rooney (where the keeper wipes him out) seemed to give him a huge shot of confidence. After that he caught fire, super cool finishes for both.

Ironically I've been waiting for his long shooting talent to emerge, did know these types of finishes were in his locker. Great work, and hopefully we'll see him kick on now

I was watching on TV but had the same impression.

Might need Marukomu to see if he's doing any recent interview in Japanese.

Surprised this hasn't been bumped yet. He was dreadful. I think there's potential for a good player there but I'm not sure he was a player we needed or have any idea where to play. He isn't a winger and we have better options in the middle. I don't think we would've signed him if it didn't help us commercially.

He was shockingly poor, we should never play him in the big games (and away), for me he is too weak, too slow and doesn't contribute to the team.

And that is not based on today's performance but whenever i have seen him play.

Bollocks.

He plays on the left for Japan. He wasnt great today but wasnt dreadful at all. Our team shat it 2nd half and so did he.

He's a top player.

I hate it so much when people bring up the commercial value. How can you disrespect Sir Alex like that? Disgusting stuff.

Anyone who saw him play for Dortmund know how good he is.

I thought he was fine today, one of the few players who was able to keep possession for the most part. Rooney should have been off instead of Kagawa.

Basically no one is going to agree with me but I'd much rather see Kagawa behind RvP than Rooney.

He's a luxury player at this point. Effective when we dominate possession but except for some good touches, needs to do more.

Will get better with a proper pre season behind him next season.

Don't think he was half as poor as some others today. The shitness of Rooney, Evra, Clev and Val overshadowed everything.

Aye, much better suited to tear apart the cannon fodder at home. Hasn't got the presence to play in the big games.

Well, he is more effective that way. Far more. And you'd think a Manchester Unites team would want to dominate possession in most games. He's not a midfielder, he's not really a winger, he needs the ball around the area and he'll create good stuff. The way we played today, Van Persie couldn't do much either when he came on. We're wasting our attacking talents by, err, not giving them the chance to get the ball where they can do damage.

The ignorance of football forums tend to amaze me.

Just because he's Japanese so he gets signed for commercial reasons rather than the two brilliant seasons he had for Dortmund. Amazing.

Your opinion. He was shit and was a needless signing.

Ofcourse its my opinion. what else would it be?

If he was shit, so were 7 others except Rio De gea and Carrick. Are they all needless now?

Have you seen him play before he came to the club? It was a bargain at the price we got him for and just being Asian doesnt make it a commercial signing.

He's not physically upto the mark atm and he knows that. Give him a season ffs.

I thought he was decent today. By no means a performance where you question why he was signed, embarrassing stuff.

Thing with Kagawa is, he's very rarely poor but just seems to do nothing and is barely involved at times.

He was never supposed to be substituted. Cleverely was the problem all game long as was Valencia on the right

Thought Cheech being substituted was worse than him being substituted. Probably needed to remove Rooney but then after Mid week probably didn't want to do that.

Our best attacking player by mile, and apart from two defenders, de Gea and carrick, he was only player who actually looked interested in this game.

Tbf, even when we had the ball in the first half he was neat and tidy but not the most effective. He gives some good touches and control but needs to do more.

Have a word with yourself.

He's got some real nice quality about him at times, nice composure on the ball - which I think is a much needed trait in our team frankly but he doesn't have the cutting edge of a Hazard/Mata/Silva in the big games.

I believe that, at Dortmund, all of the players are made to look better than they actually are due to the effectiveness of their system much like Swansea IMO so I really don't expect Kagawa to 'reach his Dortmund level' any time soon. At United, I think the system is less apparent or rather adheres to the ability of the individual and I feel sorry for him a bit. I would also be wary of buying more Dortmund midfielders or attackers in the future for this reason.

Left wing isn't really ideal for him, he'll have some good games there and some bad ones but I think the midfield makes a big difference. In some ways with him playing left it would be good to have another more experienced/solid midfielder than cleverley next to carrick. I think that would give better cover to allow kagawa to drift without it leaving us so open on that flank, particularly in the bigger games.

But really if everyone had kept their intensity for a larger portion of the game I don't think kagawa playing left would be an issue.

This is :wenger:.

He was brilliant for a very good Dortmund side and has been decent in his first (injury plagued) season with us. The guy is obviously very talented, has great control and skill, can pass and score and has an awesome name. He has been eased into the side, winning the title in his first year while also becoming the first Asian player to score a hattrick in the premier league.

I think he's the type of player that isn't really going to ever take the game by the scruff of the neck, he relies on the people around him in the same way a striker does. If everyone around him is shit there isn't a whole lot he's going to be able to do. He retained possession most of the time today but the players he gave it to simply weren't up for it today.

He struggles physically at the moment in the center against organised teams. I can see why we are playing him on the left tbh because he gets more space drifting in from there.
