Shinji Kagawa

Was brilliant today, and of course is better through the middle, as many have said before. That's where he had his brilliant days at Dortmund.

Bit of a problem as we got Rooney there. I wouldnt mind seeing Rooney on the left though.

Two moments of quality leading to goals. Don't understand why he was substituted.

Will be brilliant next season.

brilliant performance even with some sloppy passing. I think he was subbed, along with Rooney, because we just played on Sunday, played Wednesday and another game Monday. I know Monday is a fair bit away but with City playing Spurs and us at home to Villa I don't think fergie wants to risk anything.

Our players are struggling with him. They just don't know when he is going to release the ball.

He's class. Going to be a star once he settles, if he's allowed to play in his favourite role.

Would really be brilliant if he get involved even more and if we decide to go through him most of the time in attack.

We would have been totally clueless in attack today had it not been for Kagawa. Because of this, he is MOTM for me. Vidic and Rafael had good games as well, but West Ham didn't exactly run us over with their attacking play.

Hopefully he gets a few games behind the striker from now on.

Another great performance. That injury early season slowed his integration down so much, I really think he will take off next season, particularly if we get a midfielder or two he can bounce off of and drift with.

What has it come to when Phil Jones, PHIL. JONES. Gets to play behind the striker whilst Kagawa is shunted out on the wing? I'm really confused.

Yeah, the sub was a weird one alright, especially considering how well he was playing, never mind the fact that he nearly scored quite a spectacular goal.

If anyone deserves a run of starts now, it's Kagawa.

That sub was quite worrying.

Our entire right side had sprung into life after Rooney went left and Kagawa set up shop in the center. Rafael and Valencia making some clever runs into tight spaces, fully confident that Kagawa would reward them. It was great to see them playing with such good morale and then out of the blue Shinji gets subbed off.

Forget tactics/shape, they looked so much more aggressive, period.

Good stuff by him today especially with the 2 goals.

Overall play except that was a bit off which is weird because usually it is the opposite with him.

For the rest of the season he should be in behind RVP, make Rooney work his way back into the team.

He's coming good at the right time. We're crying out for a bit of inspiration now and he's one of the few players keeping us ticking along.

He could do some damage next year when everyone else is on song.

His two assists were very good, the first one especially with the touch to take it to the line. Overall, he did show other glimpses of ability, but only when he tucked inside and started playing centrally. (As opposed to tucking inside and playing wide, which is just a blatant disregard for the laws of physics).

Was surprised to see him go off, as Giggs coming on had allowed him to play in his favoured position, and I thought his performance had started to improve. The narrow miss that Van Persie capitalised on could have been the kick-starter to him winning us the game, but now we'll never know.

Did very well tonight IMO. Lots to work on still but arguably our most composed player in and around the opposition box.

Everything that's left is the right understanding with the rest of the team. It works on occassions already and when it does it's aboslutly beautiful football to watch. That's why Fergie said he'll be even better next season.

Today it worked brilliantly imo. 1 or 2 sloppy moments but everyone had them today. Happy with him.

Put himself about tonight physically which was pleasing, dunno why he was subbed, didn't look tired but anyway our motm.

With Some free flowing wingers and him behind RVP.. would be great. Just need to get everyone on his speed of thought or more players up top that are. feck it just buy Gotze and Gundogen.

A excellent footballer.

Not convinced he has a best position, but an excellent footballer.

Awesome player. Get a tip on player of the season for next year.

A few more technically brilliant midfielders who inject some energy and pace into our attack (and defence to be fair) are badly needed. This has never been as apparent as seeing Kagawa beside his current teammates. It's scary how inferior some look beside him in terms of intelligence and comfort in possession.

A Gundogan and Gotze double-swoop would be amazeballs.

Some good moments from him tonight, I'd love to see him get a run of games as a #10. To paraphrase Liverpool, Next season will be Kagawa's!

He really does deserve a run in the center behind a striker, I doubt he'll get it though, Rooney will keep getting to play his way in to form.

Certainly does.

Not sure about Rooney though, it was wierd today because he was coming deep enough to play someone ahead of him, almost like at Stoke. Instead of Jones who was wasted today Fergie could play Kagawa behind the striker and still find space for Rooney. Kagawa definitely needs to a run in the middle regardless.

Agreed. He has looked good in patches in out rather static attack, but he would be so much better with players making runs for him.

He definitely has a best middle and it's going through the middle behind the striker. It's essentially where he excelled for his last club, and it's where he will excel for United, IF given the opportunity.

Fergie has to commit to him - we all saw what he did in Germany, and he did it against the best. He not only has great intelligence in terms of passing, but has an eye for goal too - we need to bite the bullet and let him do his thing.

Best player on the pitch..the gulf between him and the rest of our team yesterday was depressing.

Vidic gonna be angry when he reads that. You have reason to be scared.

Kagawa's last 4 PL starts:

vs Norwich: Hat-trick and MOTM.
vs Sunderland: Good/decent game.
vs Stoke: Second best player in the front six(Rooney was best).
vs West Ham: Assisted both goals excellently, MOTM for United.

3 goals and 2 assists in 4 games(note: he only got to play the full 90 minutes against Norwich and Stoke). Not bad considering that he only played less than 45 minutes combined in his best position.

Fergie, please let Kagawa play in his best position from now.

I would love it we buy more skillful and technically brilliant players like him.

Our team currently lacks flair players like him.
