Shinji Kagawa

Do you think he just wakes up some days and thinks "you know what, I'm going to remind everyone I'm a humble person by telling the media how disappointing last season was"? HE obviously got asked about how he thought last season went every time, and he replied honestly every time...if you don't like hearing it so often you're better off not reading it. Lambasting him for responding appropriately to a specific question is a bit silly.

Spot on. If he said that he had an excellent season and was very pleased with his performances, well then we'd probably have people calling him a hypocrite based on his previous comments.

Maybe I'm just used to knobish footballers, but his niceness and humility is starting to get a little annoying. Love him as a player, but he needs to learn so cuntishness from someone.

Wait, wtf is he constantly beating himself so hard? It's not like he did a Liam Miller or anything in his first season here. Sure he wasn't setting the league on fire, but he made it sound like the management, the teammates, the fans all wrote him off completely. It's so far from being the case. Not to mention he was injured for a chunk of the season as well.

One can say that he's a self-critical perfectionist, but one might also argue that he's acting like a depressed, whiny little bitch who needs to grow up.
Does Japanese mentality mean anything to you?

It's no use Platato, banging-head-against-brick-wall scenario. I emphasised Japanese humility to explain Kagawa's comments, and December_16 countered that he hadn't said that Kagawa WASN'T humble :wenger:

He could score in every flipping game he plays and the comments would still be the same!

Speaking of the comments, I read where Kagawa said he's confident he can play in any attacking position. So much for only expressing disappointment. Quite amazing we are actually discussing quotes which would seem to be a non-issue. Who cares if he said he's disappointed by his performances last season? Should he lie because he keeps getting those type of questions?

Kagawa completely fails at the shooting practice and finishes dead last in front of thousands of Japanese fans. I feel a bit sorry for him:lol:

That's ok though. He doesn't need to score from a distance as long as he can pass the ball into the net, as is his style.

Wow did he even get a shot on goal once? That was hilariously bad shooting from Shinji.

I know this feeling.. For being an amateur, my right foot is ridiculously good. But I remember one time, when I "tried out" for a decent amateur team and we had a shooting exercise like this. I was confident that it was my time to shine, but for some reason I missed all the shots and finished last. It was horrible.

Needless to say that this video brings back bad memories.

That was awful.. Hopefully Nakamura can teach him something in the next few days.

He's only just joined up with the team after his delayed summer break, so he's typically going to be nowhere near as sharp as most of the squad.

There's some mega finishes from certain players there.

I think sometimes these shooting drills can be too relaxed - some players are just better in the heat of the moment.

To me shinji looked like he rushed the majority of those shots, maybe trying to make it look better than needs be.

Either way it means sod all really..

Didn't he hit the post early on? Couldn't tell. But Michael Keane's outside of the foot belter!

edit; Ok you can hear Moyesy saying Shinji Shinji! You're still in. Lol good to see Moyes at thehead of the session. Some of the delivery there is suspect.

Patrice and Buttner

So, could Shinji san do a job for us in CM?

In a midfield 3? Yes.
In a midfield 2? Maybe, but it would be a terrible waste and he'd probably never amount to much, making the fans continue their longing for a "proper CM".

Kagawa started his career deep in midfield and he has many important qualities that any top CM ought to have. But unless we're playing like Barcelona, then he should be as close to the striker as possible. That's where he's best.

See thats how you answer a question not this

Oh god please don't. Joking or otherwise, just don't.

Looking forward to seeing Shinji tomorrow. I think he'll be huge for us next season, and if Rooney leaves I think he'll become one of our most important players. He's just brilliant on the ball. The finishing in the video was just bad though

Absolutely terrible "article". Eight lines saying Dortmund would welcome him back, but Watzke says he's a United player for now.

Kagawa is the best player in training, according to Rio. He also believes that Kagawa will be a "surprise package" this season.

Interview here. The Kagawa part starts around 25:20.
