Shinji Kagawa

The folk with the axes to grind at Shinji's expense are worse than his supporters to be honest.

Change the fecking record.

Don't understand it, its not like he even came with a massive price tag. The lads tried to play some really exciting football, the kind that should be played at United. Has he really still got anything to prove?

He's been brighter and sharper today. Good performance. And once again he's won the ball 4 times, more than Valencia so far

Both Valencia and Kagawa have been average so far. Need to be more threatening in the final 3rd

They've been good, created little but that's to be expected in games like this. Did their job for the team very well.

Imagine how those of us in the middle feel having to read this thread.

He did a good job defensively until his last 10 minutes or so where the intensity seemed to catch up with him.

Going forward didn't do much at all

He played well up until the last 5-10 minutes of his day.

Combines really nicely with Evra, whos basically become Leighton Baines. Clearly what Moyes wants from his left side.

Did an excellent job defensively and was tidy on the ball. Some wanker will probably steam in and criticise him for something or other, but he and Valencia completely shut out Ozil, Ramsey and Cazorla from the game. Impressed.

Great tandem Evra-Kagawa... they simply shut down that flank. Sagna was invisible until Kagawa was replaced...

great effort from him today. Him and Valencia run their socks off.

He was very good up until just before he came off when he seemed to be knackered. I guess he has to run more than he's used to when out wide.

Are you kidding?

Yup, Bazinga!

Ill expand that statement. He's nothing to prove as a left winger, he's put in 'good' performances whilst played out of position and i don't think you can expect more than that. He isn't the versatile type and if we had someone better i doubt he's get a game but i don't see that as a stick to hit him with.

The way he's spoke about by some you'd think he was on the level of Anderson or Young, who do have a lot to prove.

I really liked all his efforts, his constant pressure on Arsenal players. He gave his best and it's important for Moyes to know that even more technical players like him can work really hard.

Yea looks like he's growing into the role and he has to because there's no chance he's going to displace Rooney.

Not bad at all. One of the things he's struggled the most with is staying involved in the game. Not today though. He consistently worked together with Evra to probe and find space from the left flank. It shouldn't matter if he isn't deployed in the middle permanently. He's intelligent enough to choose the right moments where he can drift into that space.

Good performance and did well defensively too. Had a half chance in the second half which I thought he should have shot instead of carrying it to the byline and having a cross blocked. Hope that will come with more confidence. Very tidy today but as others have mentioned, would like him to be more aggressive and attack the goal rather than sit around and play safe passes.

Did a good job on Sagna but offered nothing offensively.

Loved that flick for the Rooney chance, still think Januzaj is better offensively but looks like him and Pat are solid defensively as a combo which was a worry to me.

Had some good linkup play going forward and was alive and alert to win the ball 7 times. Good performance, shouldnt ask for much more

He was only decent today, but then again so was our entire attacking display. Kagawa was involved in pretty much every positive sign in the attacking third, apart from the corner we scored from and a couple of mediocre crosses.

I'm sorry but our attack was dogshite today and there was little Kagawa could do. Seems like the instructions from Moyes was to ping the ball forward from deep and try to press and win the second ball in their half. We didn't even attempt to build attacks from the back. It is hard to have a "flair" game when balls are coming at you from difficult angles or you're constantly challenging for 50/50 balls and releasing it quickly.

That said his workrate today was top notch. There were few moments today when I could have easily mistook him for Park.

Happy with his display. I though Moyes should have started with Januzaj but Kagawa seemed to fit our tactics well.

Thought he was pretty average today, not enough of a threat going forward.

In the first half Rooney offered more on the left despite not playing there with a series of excellent crosses.

He was good defensively but pretty poor on the ball. Weird. He got outmuscled really easily plenty of times and lost the ball a lot, especially in the second half. Not made to be a winger for United though, and Kagawa is pretty much wasted if we use him like we used him today, but he's never going to get a consistent run of games in his preferred position as long as Rooney and RVP are both fit. Great player but at the wrong club IMO.
