Shinji Kagawa

It's not really that baffling. RVP and Rooney are back and we have just signed Mata. That basically means 3 attacking slots are locked and fitting Kagawa in the same side as Mata, with neither of them being out right wide players, is not easy.

United have played 5 games since the signing of Mata so not exactly a lot of matches missed either. He was an unused sub today.

I'm talking about Moyes' overall lack of use of Kagawa's services this year.

I hope he gets one more decent chance before any decision is made. Definitely no reason if Moyes is prepared to use attacking players drifting as much as Mata has been that Kagawa can't fit in with that. As I've said before would be disappointing if at the end of the season its nani and kagawa who go and valencia/young who stay.

Kagawa and Moyes kinda remind me of Litmanen and Houllier.

Except Litmanen was a much better player. But still.

should play tomorrow with Mata out - in theory he is the closest like for like replacement

unfortunately it looks like he is not really in Moyes' plans

So important for him to put in a performance like he did against Leverkusen if he plays, which he should.

With Mata cup-tied, I'm hoping for Moyes to use Kagawa against Olympiakos. Kagawa's done very well in Europe, so far, and I hope he continues on with his European form even if he hasn't played football for quite a while.

Every time Kagawa has played through the middle, the players around him seemed more positive in their game and were more willing to support Kagawa. Whenever Kagawa's played on the left, however, he's been more isolated as if he's playing as a pure winger a la Januzaj or Young, rendering him less effective.

I'm hoping to see him play against Olympiakos. He'll be key in breaking down their defence through the middle, especially since Greek teams are so stubborn, defensively.

Would certainly like to see Kagawa play but since Young travelled would not be surprised if Young actually starts instead of Kagawa.

Going to start tonight according to some plonker I know, might be Bullshit though. (Helpful I know)

Would be nice if he did.

It'll be disappointing if we decide to sell after just 2 seasons. Young, Berbatov, Forlan and Owen all got more than that. Under SAF of course, but i hope we give him a chance.

Should have insisted for at least a loan move in the last transfer period. He is wasting his time right now, which is anything but ideal for his form at the World Cup. He is a goner...

Just a few more months and we'll be rid of him and his fanboys.

He has to leave United sharpish. His career is being wasted here playing under consecutive managers who don't know how to utilize him in the first place and insist on not giving him a decent run in the team while playing idiots like Young and Valencia as often as they can. It's baffling really.

Have to feel sorry for the lad, had a decent first season and looked like he was set up for a great second season, except Sir Alex left and we end up with Gollum and his irrational hardon for Tony V and Ashley young.

And more games for Young and Valencia to stink the place out as we languish in 7th place.
The longer Kagawa doesn't play the better the player the fanboys hype him up to be. He'll be a cross between Pele and Maradonna by the summer.
It's actually playing that ruins the image.

Except he never gets a game, and we have slipped further down the table with those who get games every week. What does that say?

Its says that he hasnt offered enough to the manager. He is the one that works with them every day.

It makes little sense, even if he does intend to sell him it would be of benefit to start Kagawa occasionally.

Moyes must've spun him a real yarn in January though, why else would he have stayed and jeopardised his World Cup form.

These days this lad is lucky to even make the bench. If it hasn't been clear already his future lies elsewhere.

Chances are he'll be shipped back to Dortmund for one of their players, so it's not all bad.

Ah yeah, that old argument. Moyes obviously favours a rigid system with 2 wingers lumping balls into the box all game. Kagawa isn't very good at that.
It seems that way at times, but also he probably appreciates the work Val and Young put in. Kagawa tends to go missing at times when we dont have the ball and maybe Moyes is more concerned about not getting beaten tonight.

I would prefer great football like you, but I also understand why Moyes is at times reluctant.
