MOTM, unless Rooney pulls off something ridiculous now.

I think he came off because Moyes wants to save him for Tuesday. Good choice if that's the case.

Rooney was clearly MoTM you biased buffoon.

Played very well today. Great assist for the 2nd goal

Hopefully starts against Bayern, surely he has to??

His first goal was a tap in. His second was a penalty. He moved around well enough, but had it not been for Kagawa's involvement, then we might very well have lost this game. It was crucial that we could bounce back fast from that Aston Villa goal.

I honestly think he's been better than Mata on the most part, that's not a slight on Mata at all because I love Mata too but when I've seen them together Shinji just seems to have more purpose to his play.

Edit: What I love even more is seeing them both play together

Not denying Kagawa had a great game, and I hope to see him Tuesday, but Rooney's overall game was better.

I agree that Rooney had a very good game, but Kagawa's performance was more important to our win(in my opinion).

Kagawa and Rooney the stand-out players. Büttner, Fellaini and Mata also did well.

Kagawa, Mata and Rooney plus a more direct wide player is excellent to watch, even if the wide player is Young. Youngs presence kept the defence stretched, and allows the three of them to play their natural game in the middle. They were really starting to gel today, which was good to see. I hope we see the three of them together more.

Not the best gif but here it is

The second assist was great.

The first one is more down to horrific defending.

Not even sure he'll start vs Bayern.

I'm generally skeptical of Moyes, but I don't think he'll be able to keep Kagawa out this time. He knows Bayern the best, and has been playing very well lately. Mata can't play either, and Januzaj is probably not ready to start an important game like this. RVP is also out, so Rooney will probably take the striker position.

The "only" way to keep Kagawa out, is to play Rooney, Welbeck, Valencia and Young. I'll actually explode if I see that happen.

I'm always skeptical, sometimes it was that obvious, we still didn't see the formations we wanted.

After tonight, I think he will start Januzaj or at least play him for most time. Wellbeck may be in for his workrate too!

Missed his appearance, only wake up after Januzaj had come on.

Eagerly waiting for the compilation of his touches judging off the comments in this and the matchday thread. Perhaps people will start to realise what he brings (and yes, I know it's only Villa but imagine after a run of games and the team getting used to playing with him).

Great game from him today. Lets hope he starts vs Bayern, as he's been in really good form since the turn of the year whenever he's actually been on the pitch.

Has to start vs Bayern with Valencia inevitably starting on the right. If not it'll be at the expense of a 3rd CM after a few days of practising 4-4-2

The thing about Kagawa's crosses, is that there's normally a purpose to them, a player he's targeting, unlike a lot of our hit and hope crosses.

Yup, he always looks to pick out a man actually, and sometimes that leads to him holding on to the ball for too long out wide instead of just puttin git in. He passes it to players in the box more, then you see someone like Young/Valencia just blindly hit it in the middle hoping somebody gets on the end of it.

I can't see how he wouldn't start now, Rafael is injured, and even if Valencia is fit (supposedly not) he's more likely to play RB.

This is Moyes you are talking about, but yea with RVP out injurred, Mata cuptied and a slight possibility of Valencia occupying the rb and his good performance from today there is a big chance he'll start vs Bayern behind Rooney.

I'm starting to think Kagawa will be here next season, Moyes or no Moyes. At least that's what I'm hoping.

He played well today, him and Mata look like they are getting a good understanding going. Also shows that if the the set up is right, you can start him on the left and he can be effective.

Welbeck, Rooney and Young in attack with Fellaini, Carrick and Giggs in midfield. Hopefully not, but wouldn't bet againt it.

He was easily the best player on the pitch today so I hope that Moyes is slowly realizing what everybody know about Kagawa. However, I don't think that he'll start next match.

Brilliant player. Since Mata came I think Kagawa has been the better player when they have had the chance to play together. Both even better together of course.
