Simple question:

I know you disagree but he should have saved the goal but i aint argueing that on two posts.. his kicking was atrocias whats he done too impress you? Also i asked to define the rest because if what was meant was better than everyone in the world  i know you didn't write that but...

Your arguements against Howard are weak and on the verge of clutching at straws. If you made a legitimate point about his play then you might get somewhere in the debate.

Now, when I said the rest, I meant everyone. He is as athletically gifted as any other keeper out there.

Yes, Thank God I'm not making the decisions at Utd. :D

Ferguson said a simular think about Carroll, Barthez, Taibi etc not to mention Veron fact is we can't do anything until the summer so i wouldn't expect him to say anything else

My arguements are not weak ask most balanced fans Howard is not good enough, neither is Carroll thats why we will be getting a new keeper in the summer. Your arguement for Howard is purely based on the fact he is American if you were impressed with his performance the other night your :wenger:

Ok. Name their mistakes and then maybe we can see eye to eye on this.

Keeper - I doubt there will be changes, other than Carroll leaving.
Giggs - Can't see any changes there either.

Raoul everyone knows their error prone, comeon.

Ideally we need a goalkeeper - someone with a commanding personality as well as ability. We may need a centre back to partner Rio, if you think neither Mickey nor Wes are the answers. We need a creative midfielder and perhaps a defensive one as well - particularly as Keane will not be with us that much longer. Then we need a player to understudy and ultimately replace Giggs. So we need say at least four newcomers of prooven ability.

Not cheap and if Gill is to be believed, we donl't have any money for transfers unless we sell first. However, the players we would'nt mind selling will fetch next to nothing unfortunately. So why not borrow the money and put some debt on the balance sheet. What effect would that have on Glazer's plans - would it make us less attractive to him, I wonder ? Unfortunately it's too late as he's going to bid anytime now and we can't go on a spending spree until summmer. January would have been the time.

Borrowing against future earnings is all well as long as it's revenue we're reasonably certain of...like commercial revenue from sale of merchandise/future tv rights...not expected winnings and the sort.

I dont want us to sign a centre back, I would much prefer to see Pique given his chance. The same way, if we were to sell Saha in the summer I'd hope we dont sign anyone to replace him and instead promote Rossi.

However, we lack cover on one wing or the other (Depending on where you play Ronaldo) and our keepers are among the worst in the premier league, much less Europe.

We all know we need a central midfielder, so I wont even go into that.

Thats more than 1 player. Unless we buy Chilavert, push him on to a defensive midfield goalkeeper position and let him take set pieces as an added bonus so we dont suck so much with them,

All well and good but can we afford to leave things until Rossi, Pique, Spector,Fletcher & co reach sufficient maturity to take over the mantle ?

Spector is quite possibly mature enough to make the step up to being a part of the first team squad...a bit of first team experience will show if he's good enough to start every game. Rossi, I think can be given the opportunity, if we were to sell Saha - he'd still be below Ruud, Rooney, Smith and Ole in the pecking order.
