Ahh ok. I just don't understand the drama with all of this. Do people actually believe their opinions are above criticism ?

I have a problem with bringing up posts from months ago to attempt to make people look silly. Especially after a good result which is pretty knee jerk.

Can't disagree with that. Although we obviously wouldn't be doing it with threads from over a year ago, but 2-3 months is still fair play imo.

It's not a criticism of opinions, the original bump was a guy just being a smartass after one good performance from the said players .

Ofcourse not. Criticising an opinion you disagree with is as much of a right as having an opinion in the first place. Especially on a football forum which is basically about discussing opinions. If we couldnt disagree with people and argue, the forum wouldnt exist as a blog would suffice.

What I find ridiculous is bumping old threads quoting multiple posts to mock posters for being wrong. Even more so when the poster in question slyly fecked off. Add to that the ridiculous timing of it, we just had our best performance and win of the season and immediately after the game ends, this was the thought in the guy's mind. Idiots like these should be discouraged. Also, calling posters clueless, pretentious wannabe analysts, saying they know feckall about football, etc etc because they were wrong about something is downright bizarre. Can you think of any poster, manager, pundit who was never wrong about anything? How about the guy we worship, Sir Alex? That's just how things go. Imagine what a circus caf would become if this became a regular occurrence.

Should have refreshed, guys above covered most of what I said anyways.

All of the opinions weren't of the same kind. It wasn't preposterous to think Mata or Blind may not be what United need to lead them to a title winning season or whatever people's expectations were.

Some were much more juvenile in their criticism and it was puerile in nature and there is no harm in calling them out now, even though it will just lead to the same thing in return the next time one of these players fail.

There is a large difference between these two kinds of opinion and putting them together in the same basket obviously leads to 'drama'.

Yes I agree wholeheartedly. Scholsey should've taken the time to separate constructive criticisms of both players with the muppet posts ("he's shit") etc.

Like I said a while back, cafs gone soft... Now people are getting upset by being pulled up over something silly they said a while back, that used to be par for the course. When it happens to me I just say 'fair dos' and move on....
