Sofyan Amrabat | 2023/24 Performances

Played well when he came on and then made an error. Still think both lindelof and Maguire could have bailed him out.

He was never really a player we should’ve targeted, Fiorentina plays much different game to us, another example of a guy pursued because manager knew him and being a mismatch

Just looks rubbish to me. Decided to dribble into traffic in our half, got tackled, Willock drives at our defence then scores with a super shot.

I honestly don't see what's supposed to be special about this guy but alright. Seems like another Sabitzer kind of deal.

That's what I said in his first game.

People were acting like this guy will transform our midfield or something.

He's a pointless player. We don't sign players just because they put some effort.

Not worth whatever Fiorentina will ask for him. Move on when the loan ends

Are we not allowed to have him and Casemiro on the pitch in midfield at the same time. We have to try and make centre midfield a bit more solid and they should be able to cover for each others deficiencies. Think it's been 45 mins so far which wasn't great admittedly but we have to try and stick with it instead of hang both out to try with this formation/setup

He’s shite (relative to what we need). He wouldn’t get into any other top six teams in the Premier League. Everything that was warned by regular watchers was correct, it’s almost like someone at the club should be saying to Ten Hag no.

It says it all that we’re scratching around for loan who is supposed to tranform our midfield, yet City can pay £50 million for Kalvin Phillips, and seemlying get rid when it suits.

Everything he does is so slow, I don’t think he suits English football at all.
Unfortunately most of us saw this coming, he is technically poor and physically disappointing. He is just busy being ineffective

This will be an awful combo. Casemiro is already on his last legs and he needs active players around him to compensate. This guy is way too slow, static and useless. This midfield will be run through 24/7.

Throw in Mount in the mix and you'll have one of the worst midfield combos in the league.

I don't think so. We need players in around Casemiro/Maguire/Lindelof and he's about the only other midfielder we have that isn't an out of position number 10 that can sit in there. Eriksen would be ok against a team we would have more ball against but that's no one basically. Mainoo would be obviously the long term hope

This combination would have made sense today. But knowing we had where 2:0 down, it isn't easy to justify adding another "DM"... It is such a bad situation now, every decision will be labeled a bad decision because absolutely nothing works...

It won't work, believe me. I'll take Scott ahead of him.

Another rubbish player to add to the list. Shame we didn't loan the rest of Erik Ten Hag's signings

Just a very average midfielder getting exposed. Makes total sense Forest wanted him. That's his level.

Most definately not. We need players that make themselves available for a pass and can track runners. Scott can do none of them things and should only be an impact sub up top.

Neither does this guy.

League's to fast for him. But he's still not as bad as most of the others. Not high praise.

The Fiorentina fans were right, but very few on here wanted to listen. At least it’s just a loan, but United always get it wrong in the transfer window. They need to clean house top to bottom.

Yup. We improved dramatically when he replaced Casemiro. Until the third goal killed us off and heads dropped. Bad error but not a bad performance.

Neither does this guy.

To be fair Amrabat definitely shows for the ball. And he’s decent on the half-turn, way better than McTominay.

His issue is that he’s no where near mobile enough for a top class midfielder and his passing lacks creativity and incisiveness. If you were being kind you could say he keeps things ticking but it’s all very uninspired and he doesn’t offer enough outside of that.

Every member of the squad has a good 10-15 mins in them and then the first mistake they make gets punished with a goal.

Repeat x3 and the game is over.

Wait 3-4 days and repeat again. Season 23/24

He’s absolutely shite and those saying otherwise are kidding themselves on.

McFred was better than any combo we’ve put in midfield this season.

I thought he did alright. Just that one time getting caught will dictate a lot of opinions.

Ten Hag’s system sets up any DM for failure. No surprise that Cas also looks horrific but, to be honest, even prime Makalele or Busquets would look awful in this system.

The 3-1-6 has not been working out since the first game of the season. The 1 is too isolated. It doesn’t matter if it is Eriksen, Casimero or Amrabat.

It is no surprise that we keep conceding goals from cutbacks. It is no surprise that we keep conceding from defensive transitions, or Amrabat or Casimero are forced to make fouls due to the large spaces they have to defend all alone. It is no surprise that we keep conceded from turnovers in the first phase of the build-up because the passing angles to and for the 1 DM are cut off. It was Amrabat today, it was Cas vs Brentford a few weeks ago, it was Cas forced to concede the penalty vs Gala.

The infuriating thing is that Ten Hag could fix this so easily either by inverting one of the full-backs or playing a double pivot.

Maybe Amrabat isn’t United quality. But the Ten Hag system is making him look so much worse than he is!

He's been our worst summer signing. Not sure of a single positive contribution he made in all of his games here. Even Mount can do something.
