Southampton vs. Manchester United

Our lack of ability to play 433 is scary. We simply have no pattern of play. We look a far better team playing 442. The fact we have no mobility in the middle of the park is immaterial. 442 serves us better.

It's weird cos we used to be great at playing the 433 but the last year or so we just can't seem to get it right. To the point where 442 is indeed the better option.

Fergie's at fault for this as well

"Right lads; I want you to go out there, stand around like statues, takes ages on the ball, slip over in defence and take ridiculous penalties if you get the chance. That'll work. There's no doubt about that."

Our decision making is atrocious. 2-1 down?? Let's play a corner to the edge of the box! Sterling idea all round folks.

These players are much, much better then this... and that is the frustrating thing.

Fits our overall playing style.

Tactically we look like an average English team from one or two decades ago.

Stand off as long as possible then when you got the ball try a long pass to one of your strikers and hope he can score.

If a team like Southampton starts to look tactical superior to your team it's time to wonder if a better tactical adviser would do the team some good.

Who is our tactical adviser. Phelan?

"Right lads; I want you to go out there, stand around like statues, takes ages on the ball, slip over in defence and take ridiculous penalties if you get the chance. That'll work. There's no doubt about that."

Dont be an idiot. Playing players out of position is definately not going to help and he's in charge of training and making sure they play with the right attitude

It really looks like these players haven't trained together before or something. That pen miss was the difference between points and nothing.

No urgency/tempo to our play at all, pathetic.

Like I've said, I cannot believe we have not strenghtened our central midfield. Its so fecking shit.i'm speechless.

Exactly against teams like taht, you need a bit of steel and creativity and we have lacked that for too long now

We are not good and the sooner people get real with their expectations for the season, the better this place will be.

Really don't understand why all the criticism is focused on Carrick, it's not his job to drive forward from midfield. Kagawa/Clev got pressed out of the game and our width has been non existent.

We should have changed to two up top far earlier.

Seriously, what is so fecking difficult in buying a midfielder? Sometimes, SAF's biggest strength, ie loyalty, is also his biggest weakness. His stubborness in refusing to reinforce thie midfield is probably to show faith in Cleverly and the expected return of Fletcher.

So guys, did you hear about the guy with no legs? He had legs but didn't realise he could move with them. His name was carrick.

We can't be blaming lack of transfers. Our team is better than this, need to start linking up and taking some responsibility. Need to be much, much stronger than this.

And I really hope we don't see another chipped penalty any time soon.

I can't wait for the usual suspects to tell us we're playing fine and don't need anything.
